Abstract
Keberadaan kelompok lesbian pada kalangan buruh pabrik menimbulkan penolakan bagi sebagian masyarakat. Adanya penolakan masyarakat terhadap kelompok lesbian ini membuat mereka sulit menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungannya, maka dari itu perlu upaya untuk beradaptasi. Adaptasi sosial yang dilakukan oleh kelompok lesbian buruh pabrik memiliki proses-proses tertentu agar mereka dapat diterima di lingkungan keluarga, masyarakat sekitar maupun lingkungan kerja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menjawab bagaimana proses adaptasi sosial yang dilakukan oleh kelompok lesbian buruh pabrik di lingkungan sosialnya, latar belakang maraknya orientasi seksual lesbian di kalangan buruh pabrik. Serta mengetahui bagaimana dampak yang ditimbulkan dari adanya keberadaan kelompok lesbian di lingkungan sosialnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus serta teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap subjek penelitian. Hasil temuan penelitian adalah (1) Proses adaptasi sosial yang dilakukan kelompok lesbian buruh pabrik di lingkungan sosialnya yang dianalisis menggunakan teori interaksionisme simbolik, (2) Faktor yang melatarbelakangi perubahan orientasi seksual lesbian yang paling dominan adalah faktor lingkungan pabrik yang mayoritas pekerjanya adalah perempuan, (3) Dampak yang ditimbulkan dari keberadaan kelompok lesbian buruh pabrik bagi lingkungan sosialnya salah satunya menimbulkan keresahan masyarakat terhadap penyakit menular seksual, (4) Pemaknaan simbol pada kelompok lesbian buruh pabrik ditinjau menggunakan teori interaksionisme simbolik George H. Mead. The existence of a lesbian group among factory workers has caused some people to reject it. The community's rejection of this lesbian group makes it difficult for them to adjust to their environment, therefore efforts are needed to adapt. The social adaptation carried out by the lesbian group of factory workers has certain processes so that they can be accepted in the family, surrounding community and work environment. The purpose of this study is to answer how the social adaptation process carried out by the lesbian group of factory workers in their social environment, the background of the rise of lesbian sexual orientation among factory workers. As well as knowing how the impact of the existence of lesbian groups in their social environment. The research method used is a qualitative approach with case study methods and data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation studies on research subjects. The research findings are (1) the process of social adaptation carried out by the lesbian group of factory workers in their social environment which is analyzed using the theory of symbolic interactionism, (2) The factors behind the change in lesbian sexual orientation are the most dominant factors in the factory environment where the majority of the workers are women, ( 3) The impact of the existence of the lesbian group of factory workers on the social environment, one of which causes public unrest about sexually transmitted diseases, (4) The meaning of symbols in the lesbian group of factory workers is reviewed using George H. Mead's theory of symbolic interactionism.
