Abstract

Survey awal pada 15 alumni prodi teknik konversi energi Politeknik Negeri Bandung (Polban) di industri, menunjukkan 93% responden setuju bahwa pengembangan kemampuan menganalisis dan mengkreasi dalam suatu program perkuliahan sangat mendukung kepentingan pekerjaan dan 100% responden setuju bahwa pengembangan konten program perkuliahan fisika berkontribusi terhadap perkuliahan matakuliah lanjutan terkait fisika di prodi dan untuk pekerjaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan materi program perkuliahan fisika sesuai kebutuhan Prodi Teknik Konversi Energi Politeknik dan strategi program perkuliahan fisika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menganalisis dan mengkreasi mahasiswa. Pengembangan materi program perkuliahan didasarkan pada hasil analisis profil kompetensi lulusan Prodi Teknik Konversi Energi Politeknik dan strategi program perkuliahan tatap-muka didasarkan pada metode Interactive Lecture Demonstration (ILD) dan metode Pembelajaran Berbasis Inkuiri (PBI). Materi perkuliahan disusun melalui uji kelayakan pada 12 dosen Prodi Teknik Konversi Energi Polban, sedangkan perkuliahan praktek melalui pendekatan praktikum dan penelitian. Desain pengembangan program perkuliahan memakai pendekatan penelitian dan pengembangan melalui 4 tahapan, yaitu: studi pendahuluan, perancangan, pengembangan dan validasi. Ujicoba luas dalam validasi memakai metode eksperimen-kuasi dengan pre-test post-test group control design. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Polban dengan melibatkan 122 mahasiswa prodi teknik konversi energi sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar observasi, angket dan tes. Penelitian menghasilkan program perkuliahan fisika meliputi: (a) materi program perkuliahan berupa tujuan perkuliahan, kompetensi, pokok bahasan, dan sub-pokok bahasan; dan (b) strategi program perkuliahan dengan 5 komponen utama berupa struktur program perkuliahan, landasan penyusunan pedoman perkuliahan, pedoman perkuliahan, format monitoring-evaluasi kegiatan mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan, dan instrumen evaluasi perkuliahan. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa program perkuliahan yang dikembangkan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir menganalisis dan mengkreasi, serta penguasaan konsep mahasiswa lebih efektif dibandingkan perkuliahan reguler. Disarankan kepada dosen fisika Prodi Teknik Konversi Energi Politeknik agar dapat mengembangkan bahan ajar dan e-learning dilengkapi aktivitas pengembangan kemampuan menganalisis dan mengkreasi, dan didasarkan pada program perkuliahan yang telah dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini. Preliminary survey to 15 respondents of the energy conversion engineering alumni of the Bandung State Polytechnic (Polban), who have been actively worked in the industry, showed 93% of the respondents agreed that the development of analyzing and creating capabilities in a course of lectures is important for employment. On the other hand 100% of the respondents agreed that the content development of college physics course is important to support the advanced courses and their jobs. This research is intended to develop the content of physics course appropriate to the needs for the study program of energy conversion engineering of polytechnic, and the strategy of physics course to improve the analyzing and creating capabilities of students. The content of physics course were compiled to be based on analysis results from the graduate competency profile of energy conversion engineering of Polban. The strategy of physics course were compiled to be based on analysis results from the Interactive Lecture Demonstration (ILD) method and the Inquiry Based Lecture (IBL) method. The content of physics course compiled to be based on polling of 12 lecturers of Energy Conversion Engineering of Polban and activities in laboratory consists of practice and research. The research used Research & Development design with four stages, consists of: conducting preliminary studies, planning, developing, and validating program. Extensive tryout in the validation phase used a quasi-experimental method with pre-test post-test control groups design. Research was implemented at the Polban. Subjects of research were 122 students of energy conversion engineering of Polban. The data were collected by using observation sheets, questionnaires, and tests. This research produced the program of physics course, consists of: (a) the content of physics course in form the instructional objectives, competencies, topics and sub-topics of physics; and (b) the strategy of physics course with 5 principal components, consist of: the structure of course programs, the base compiling of course guidance, the course guidance, the format of monitoring and evaluation for student’s activity in the course, and the instrument of course evaluation. The data analysis showed that the physic course programs that was developed to improve student’s capability of analyzing and creating, and mastering of physics concepts that more effective compared to regular classes. Suggesting for physics lecturer of energy conversion engineering of polytechnic in orde to develope the course contents and the e-learning which are equipped with the development activity of analyzing and creating capabilities based on the physic course programs that has been developed in this research.
