Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan dengan dilatarbelakangi oleh temuan dalam proses pembelajaran. Masalahnya adalah siswa merasa kesulitan belajar menulis karangan narasi dan guru juga merasa kesulitan mengajarkannya. Oleh karena itu, dalam penelitian ini dikembangkan sebuah model pembelajaran kontekstual untuk pembelajaran menulis karangan narasi. Masalah penelitian disusun dalam bentuk pertanyaan penelitian, yaitu: Seperti apa kondisi objektif pembelajaran menulis di SMA Provinsi Riau saat penelitian dimulai? Bagaimana model desain pembelajaran kontekstual untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar menulis siswa SMA kelas x? Bagaimana efektifitas model pembelajaran kontekstual yang dikembangkan terhadap hasil belajar menulis siswa SMA kelas x? Bagaimana pendapat siswa dan guru tentang model pembelajaran kontekstual yang dikembangkan? Apa saja faktor pendukung dan penghambat pelaksanaan model pembelajaran kontekstual dalam pelajaran menulis di SMA kelas x? Tujuan akhir penelitian yang ingin dicapai adalah mengetahui sejauh mana model pembelajaran kontekstual yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa SMA kelas X. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah riset and development dan prosedur penelitian terdiri dari 3 langkah umum yaitu (1) studi pendahuluan, (2) pengembangan draf model, dan (3) uji coba draf model. Objek penelitian melibatkan siswa SMA kelas X semester I di 4 SMA dalam wilayah Provinsi Riau. Ujicoba terbatas dilakukan di SMA negeri 1 Tembilahan Hulu. Ujicoba dalam skala luas dilakukan di SMA negeri 1 Tembilahan, SMA negeri 4 Pekanbaru, dan SMA negeri 2 Siak Hulu. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan angket, wawancara, observasi, tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kontekstual efektif untuk (1) menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan kreatifitas siswa dalam pelajaran menulis, (2) membangun kreatifitas guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran menulis, (3) meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, (4) meningkatkan motivasi dan gairah belajar siswa pada pelajaran menulis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, direkomendasikan kepada guru agar selalu menggunakan model pembelajaran kontekstual dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan narasi, kepala sekolah agar memfasilitasi guru dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran di kelas. Bagi Dinas Pendidikan supaya terus melakukan upaya peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam mengolola pembelajaran melalui pelatihan teknis dan penataran. Kepada peneliti selanjutnya agar dapat menindaklanjuti hasil penelitian ini demi peningkatan kualitas hasil pengajaran di masa depan. This study is back grounded by finding in learning process. The problem is student find difficulty in learning to write narration composition and teacher also find difficulty to teach it. Therefore, in this study a contextual learning model is developed to writing learning of narration composition. Study problem is arranged in the form of research question, namely: How does look like the objective condition of writing learning in Senior High School Riau Province at the time the study started? How does the design model of contextual learning to enhance writing learning outcome of class x Senior High School students? How does the effectiveness of contextual learning model which is developed toward learning outcome of class x Senior High School students? How student and teacher opinion about contextual learning model which is developed? What are supporting and hindering factors of contextual learning model implementation in writing lesson in class x Senior High School? The final aim of study which wants to be achieved is to find out how far the contextual learning model which is developed can enhance the writing ability of class X Senior High School students? The research method which is used is research and development and research procedure consist of 3 general steps namely: (1) preliminary study, (2) model draft development, (3) model draft trial. Object of study involved students of semester I class X Senior High School in four Senior High Schools in Riau Province. Limited trial is conducted in Public Senior High School 1 Tembilahan Riau. Large scale trial is conducted in Public Senior High School 1 Tembilahan, Public Senior High School 4 Pekan Baru, and Public Senior High School 2 Siak Hulu. Data collection technique with questionnaire, interview, observation, outcome learning test. Study result show that contextual learning model is effective to (1) grow and develop student’s creativity in writing lesson, (2) build teacher creativity in managing writing learning, (3) enhance student’s learning outcome, (4) enhance student’s learning motivation and excitement toward writing lesson. Based on this study result, it is recommended for teachers always to use contextual learning model in learning process, principal to facilitate teachers in developing learning in class. It is also recommended to Education Staff to keep conducting the effort of teacher ability enhancement in managing learning through technical training. Next, it is hoped that researcher can follow up this study result for the sake of teaching outcome quality enhancement in the future.
