Abstract
Abstract Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease that affects from all ages and is one of the most serious health problems in Indonesia. Since tuberculosis treatment therapy takes quite a long time, it is prone to failures in the treatment period. When undergoing treatment in the long term, self efficcy is very important for people with pulmonary tuberculosis. This study aims to determine the description of self efficacy in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in undergoing treatment at the Cimalaka Public Health Center. This study used a quantitative descriptive research method involving 48 pulmonary tuberculosis patients undergoing treatment at the Cimalaka Health Center. Sampling using total sampling technique. Data were collected using a self efficacy questionnaire (SE) that was distributed directly to assess the level of self efficacy of tuberculosis sufferers, consisting of 15 questions, which were then analyzed by presenting the frequency distribution. The results of the study on the level of self efficacy in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis at the Cimalaka Health Center were more than half of them had a high level of self efficacy as many as 26 respondents (54%). Less than half had a low level of self efficacy of 22 respondents (46%). It can be concluded that patients with pulmonary tuberculosis at the Cimalaka Public Health Center have a high level of self efficacy. Patients with pulmonary tuberculosis are expected to be motivated to remain confident and able to think positively about the treatment being carried out and it is important for health workers and drug supervisors (PMO) to continue to improve self efficacy as an effort to increase the success rate of treatment in people with pulmonary tuberculosis.
