Abstract

Penelitian yang berjudul “Peningkatan Menulis Puisi dengan Tema Lingkungan melalui Model Latihan Terbimbing” dilakukan karena masih kurangnya kemampuan menulis puisi siswa dalam pelajaran menulis puisi di sekolah. Penggunaan model pembelajaran ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan menulis puisi siswa dengan memperhatikan unsur- unsur puisi khususnya tema, rima, dan bait. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yaitu tindakan penelitian yang dilakukan di dalam kelas yang bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kinerja guru dan kualitas pembelajaran sehingga hasil belajar dapat meningkat. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu pembelajaran menulis puisi dengan objek siswa yang berjumlah 42 siswa pada kelas IIIA SDN Bekasi Jaya I Kota Bekasi. Data- data yang diperoleh menggunakan instrumen- instrumen penelitian yang telah disiapkan yaitu lembar observasi aktivitas guru, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, lembar catatan lapangan, dan hasil tes menulis puisi. Pelaksanaan tindakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga siklus yang mencakup perencanaan, pelaksanaa, observasi, dan refleksi. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan, penggunaan model latihan terbimbing dengan tema lingkungan dalam menulis puisi dapat mempermudah siswa dalam menulis puisi. Siswa termotivasi dan lebih aktif ketika pembelajaran berlangsung. Berdasarkan analisis terhadap hasil menulis puisi siswa selama proses tindakan dapat dikatakan memuaskan. Keterampilan menulis puisi meningkat setiap siklusnya. Dilihat dari perolehan rata- rata nilai keseluruhan siswa, pada siklus I nilai rata- rata mencapai 60,91, sisklus II 65,24, dan siklus III 71,09. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, disarankan kepada guru SD untuk menggunakan model latihan terbimbing sebagai teknik pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar menulis. Kata kunci : keterampilan menulis puisi, model latihan terbimbing ABSTRACT The research titled “The Improvement of Poetry Writing Skills with the Theme of Environment through Guided-Practice Model” was conducted because of students’ lack of poetry writing skills in the lesson of poetry writing at school. The use of this instructional model is expected to improve students’ poetry writing skills by considering the elements of poetry, especially theme, rhyme, and stanza. The method used in the research was Classroom Action Research, namely action research conducted in the classroom, which aims to improve teacher performance and teaching and learning quality so that students’ learning achievements can improve. The subjects for this research was poetry writing teaching and learning, with 42 students of the third grade of State Elementary School Bekasi Jaya I, Kota Bekasi, as the objects. The data were gained through the already prepared research instruments, namely observation sheet of teacher activity, observation sheet of student activity, field notes, and test results of poetry writing. The actions of this research consisted of three cycles, involving planning, execution, observation, and reflection. From the conducted research, the use of guided-practice model with the theme of environment in poetry writing was proven to facilitate students in writing poetry. The students were motivated and more active during the teaching and learning. Based on the analysis, the poetry written by students during the research process could be said to be satisfactory. Their poetry writing skills improved in each cycle. The average scores of the whole students were 60.91 for the first cycle, 65.24 for the second cycle, and 71.09 for the third cycle. Based on the results, it is suggested that elementary school teachers use the guided-practice model as an instructional technique that can improve the results of learning writing.
