Abstract

Pendidikan abad XXI mengharuskan siswa untuk memiliki kompetensi, di anantaranya berpikir kritis dan keterampilan sosial tetapi, kenyataan di lapangan menunujukkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SD cenderung masih rendah, khususnya pada pembelajaran IPS. Lebih khusus, rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis diakibatkan oleh kurangnya perhatian mengenai gaya belajar. Padahal, dengan memahami gaya belajar siswa kegiatan pembelajaran akan menjadi efektif dan berpengaruh pada hasil belajar yaitu kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Hal ini perlu menjadi sorotan dan tujuan penelitian ini yaitu diharapkan agar guru dan orang tua dapat mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis setiap siswa berdasarkan kecenderungan gaya belajar yang dimilikinya. Penelitian ini memaparkan hasil analisis dan deskripsi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V pada setiap indikator dalam pelajaran IPS berdasarkan gaya belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan desain analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas V di SDN 018 Sukagalih mayoritas memiliki kecenderungan gaya belajar kinestetik dengan presentase 29.99%. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan gaya belajar visual cenderung pada indikator memberikan penjelasan sederhana dalam kategori “Sangat Baik”; siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial cenderung memiliki kampuan berpikir ktitis pada indikator memberikan penjelasan lanjutan dalam kategori “Baik”; dan siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik cenderung memiliki kampuan berpikir kritis pada indikator memberikan penjelasan sederhana dalam kategori “Baik”. Hasil analisis ini dapat memberikan informasi dan gambaran mengenai tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V pada pembelajaran IPS berdasarkan gaya belajarnya. ----- This 21st century of education required students to have competence, among them critical thinking and social skills. In fact, critical thinking of students’ in social studies at elementary school ten to be low. More specifically, low critical thinking skill is a result of deficient attention in the learning style. Whereas, if understanding the importance of students, learning style will be effective and influence, the learning result will be students’ critical thinking skill. This should be in the spotlight, so that teachers and parents can know each student critical thinking skill based on their learning styles tendencies. This research explain analyze and describing the critical thinking skill of student’s class 5th grades rate at each indicator at social studies based on learning style. The research employed method a quantitative approach and design used is a descriptive analysis. The result of this study revealed that 5th grade at SDN 018 Sukagalih the majority have a tendency to kinesthetic learners with a percentage of 29.99%. Students’ critical thinking skill with visual learners tend to elementary clarification who fall into the “Excellent” category; students with auditorial learners tend to have advances clarification who fall into the “Good” category; and students with kinesthetic learners tend to have elementary clarification in “Good” categories. This analyses can provide information and overview of the level 5th grade student’s critical thinking skill on social studies based their learning style.
