Abstract

The title of the thesis: "INFLUENCE OF THE INTERNET-BASED COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL OF GROUP INVESTIGATION MODEL ON SOCIAL SKILLS AND DIGITAL LITERATURE ABILITY OF STUDENTS IN LEARNING Social Sciences at MTs NEGERI 6, SUMEDANG". supervised by Prof. Dr. Sapriya, M.Ed as supervisor I and Dr. Mamat Ruhimat, M.Pd as supervisor II. This research is motivated by the fact that social studies learning has not been able to develop students' social skills and digital literacy skills. The aims of the study were to analyze: (1) the differences between students who followed the internet-based cooperative learning group investigation model and students who followed the library-based cooperative learning group investigation model on students' social skills; (2) the difference between students who follow the internet-based cooperative learning type group investigation model and students who follow the library-based group investigation type cooperative learning model to improve students' digital literacy skills. The type of research is quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control group design. The research variables include the independent variable in the form of a cooperative learning model of group investigation type and the moderator variable, namely the internet, and the dependent variable in the form of students' social skills and students' digital literacy abilities. The population in this study were students of MTs Negeri 6 Sumedang for the academic year 2020/2021, with a sample of students in grades 8-A and 8-B. The instruments used in the form of pretest questions, posttest social studies material abilities, social skills questionnaires and students' digital literacy before and after the intervention. The data analysis technique used two-way ANOVA test (MANOVA) and independent sample t-test (with a significance level of 5%). The results showed that: (1) there was no increase in the social skills of students using the internet-based group investigation type cooperative learning model, while the social skills of students using the library-based cooperative learning model experienced a significant increase in social skills; (2) the improvement of students' digital literacy skills using internet-based group investigation learning is higher than students using library-based group investigation learning. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kenyataan bahwa pembelajaran IPS belum mampu mengembangkan keterampilan sosial dan kemampuan literasi digital siswa. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis: (1) perbedaan antara siswa yang mengikuti model cooperative learning tipe group investigation berbasis internet dengan siswa yang mengikuti model cooperative learning tipe group investigation berbasis perpustakaan terhadap keterampilan sosial siswa; (2) perbedaan antara siswa yang mengikuti model cooperative learning tipe group investigation berbasis internet dengan siswa yang mengikuti model cooperative learning tipe group investigation berbasis perpustakaan terhadap kemampuan literasi digital siswa. Jenis penelitian, quasi experiment dengan non-equivalent control group design. Variabel penelitian meliputi variabel bebas berupa model cooperative learning tipe group investigation dan variabel moderator yakni internet, serta variabel terikat berupa keterampilan sosial siswa dan kemampuan literasi digital siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri 6 Sumedang tahun pelajaran 2020/2021, dengan sampel kelas 8-A dan 8-B. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal pretest, posttest kemampuan materi IPS, angket keterampilan sosial dan literasi digital siswa sebelum dan setelah dilakukan intervensi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji anova dua jalur (MANOVA) dan uji independent sample t-test (taraf signifikansi 5%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Model cooperative learning tipe group investigation berbasis internet tidak berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan sosial siswa, sedangkan model cooperative learning tipe group investigation berbasis perpustakaan berpengaruh secara sigifikan terhadap keterampilan sosial siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS materi Kedatangan Bangsa-Bangsa Eropa ke Indonesia di MTs Negeri 6 Sumedang. (2) Peningkatan kemampuan literasi digital siswa yang menggunakan model cooperative learning tipe group investigation berbasis internet lebih tinggi daripada Siswa menggunakan model cooperative learning tipe group investigation berbasis perpustakaan dalam pembelajaran IPS materi Kedatangan Bangsa-Bangsa Eropa ke Indonesia di MTs Negeri 6 Sumedang.
