Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penanaman nilai karakter sebagai pembentukan karakter siswa dalam menghadapi perkembangan arus globalisasi yang semakin pesat. Pendidikan karakter dijadikan sebagai pondasi dalam pembentukan nilai kepedulian sosial yang bertujuan agar siswa memiliki perilaku sosial yang baik dan mampu berinteraksi dengan individu lain. Pembentukan nilai kepedulian sosial dilakukan dengan memberikan pendidikan moral melalui penggunaan buku teks dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan muatan nilai karakter peduli sosial, sebaran muatan nilai karakter peduli sosial, dan kesesuaian materi IPS dengan muatan nilai karakter peduli sosial yang terdapat pada Buku Siswa kelas IV SD/MI tema Indahnya Keragaman di Negeriku. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode penelitian analisis isi. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah teks bacaan pada Buku Siswa kelas IV SD/MI tema Indahnya Keragaman di Negeriku terbitan Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Edisi Revisi 2017. Teknik analisis data digunakan dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Pada Buku Siswa kelas IV SD/MI tema Indahnya Keragaman di Negeriku memuat indikator muatan nilai karakter peduli sosial, yang meliputi nilai tolong-menolong, nilai tenggang rasa, nilai toleransi, nilai aksi sosial, dan nilai berakhlak mulia. 2) Pada Buku Siswa kelas IV SD/MI tema Indahnya Keragaman di Negeriku memiliki sebaran muatan nilai karakter peduli sosial yang sangat kaya dan tersebar pada teks bacaan. 3) Pada Buku Siswa kelas IV SD/MI tema Indahnya Keragaman di Negeriku belum menunjukkan kesesuaian materi IPS dengan muatan nilai karakter peduli sosial secara keseluruhan. This research is motivated by the importance of instilling character value as the formation of student character in the face of the increasingly rapid development of globalization. Character education is used as a foundation in the formation of social care value with the goal of teaching student’s good social behavior and are the ability to interact with others. The formation of social care value is carried out by providing moral education through the use of textbooks in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to analyze and describe the content of social care character value, the distribution of social care chacarter value, and the suitability of social studies material with social care chacarter value contained in the Student Book IVth Grade SD/MI theme The Beauty of Diversity in My Country. This research is a qualitative with content analysis research method. The data source of this research is the reading text in the Student Book IVth grade SD/MI theme The Beauty of Diversity in My Country published by the ministry of Education and Culture Revised Edition 2017. Data analysis techniques are used by means of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that 1) In the Student Book IVth grade SD/MI theme The Beauty of Diversity in My Country contains indicators the content of social care chacarter value, such as the value of helping, the value of tolerance, the value of tolerance, the value of social action, and the value of noble character. 2) In the Student Book IVth grade SD/MI theme The Beauty of Diversity in My Country has a very rich distribution of social care character value and spreads in the reading text. 3) In the Student Book IVth grade SD/MI theme The Beauty of Diversity in My Country doesn’t really have shown the suitability of the social studies material with the overall social care character value.
