Abstract

Abstrak Pendidikan karakter sangat penting bagi kehidupan, salah satunya karakter peduli lingkungan. Dikarenakan lingkungan dan manusia saling membutuhkan satu sama lain. Akan tetapi, masih adanya penyimpangan terhadap karakter peduli lingkungan ialah siswa masih ada yang membuang sampah sembarangan, misalnya sampah alat tulis dibuang melalui jendela, atau sampah bungkus makanan ditemukan di kolong meja maupun taman sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, mengidentifikasi, dan mendeskripsikan tentang 1) proses pelaksanaan jumat bersih; 2). Implikasi dari program jumat bersih terhadap pembinaan karakter peduli lingkungan siswa di SD Madani. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitiannya ialah siswa kelas IV dan V. Lokasi penelitiannya di SD Madani, kota Cilegon, Banten. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, studi dokumentasi dan kuesioner. Dalam penelitian ini, diperoleh hasil bahwa 1) proses pelaksanaan jumat bersih yakni kegiatan rutin gotong royong dilakukan di hari jumat pada pukul 13.00 WIB untuk membersihkan lingkungan sekolah dengan estimasi waktu 15-30 menit dan didampingi oleh guru; 2) adapun implikasi dari program jumat bersih terhadap pembinaan karakter siswa yakni dilihat dari angket yang diisi oleh 49 responden bahwa 94% siswa menjawab tepat dan 6% siswa menjawab tidak tepat. Dengan demikian, program jumat bersih dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam membina karakter peduli lingkungan siswa. Abstract Character education is very important for life, one of which is a character of care for the environment. Because the environment and humans need each other. However, there are still deviations from the character of caring for the environment, namely students who litter, for example, stationery trash is thrown through the window, or food wrappers are found under desks, in front of classes, and school gardens. This research purpose is to determine, identify, and describe the 1) process of implementation of the Clean Friday program; 2) the implication of the Clean Friday program on caring character building for the environment at Madani Elementary School. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Subjects research were students in grades IV and V. The research location was at Madani Elementary School in Cilegon, Banten. The data collection techniques in this study were participant observation, in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and questionnaires. In this research, it was found that 1) the process of implementing clean Fridays, namely routine cooperation activities, was carried out on Fridays at 13.00 WIB to clean the school environment with an estimated time of 15-30 minutes and accompanied by the teacher; 2) the implication of the Clean Friday program on student character building are seen from the questionnaire filled out by 49 respondents that 94% of students answered correctly and 6% of students answered incorrectly. Therefore, the Clean Friday program can be used as an alternative for the character building of care for the student's environment.
