Abstract

ABSTRAK Penggunaan uang bagi siswa tunagrahita ringan tidak terlepas dari kemampuan mengenal uang dan menghitung uang pembayaran belanja dan sisa uang kembalian belanja. Siswa tunagrahita tidak mampu berpikir abstrak sehingga kemampuan penggunaan uang mereka masih rendah. Permainan monopoli memiliki komponen yang semi konkret sehingga memudahkan siswa untuk menerima materi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan awal penggunaan siswa tunagrahita ringan, pelaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan permainan monopoli dan kemampuan penggunaan uang siswa tunagrahita ringan setelah menggunakan permainan monopoli. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri atas 3 siklus. Dalam penelitian ini subjek penelitian berjumlah 4 siswa tunagrahita ringan kelas VII SMPLB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keempat subjek menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan penggunaan uang pada setiap siklus daripada kemampuan awal penggunaan siswa tunagrahita ringan dalam hal ini menghitung uang belanja dan sisa uang kembalian belanja. Selain itu, aktivitas siswa saat proses pembelajaran dan keterampilan guru dalam pembelajaran juga menunjukkan peningkatan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan rekomendasi bagi guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus terutama siswa tunagrahita ringan yang kemampuan penggunaan uangnya masih rendah. Melalui strategi pembelajaran permainan monopoli ini dapat mendorong siswa lebih aktif dan menarik bagi siswa karena memuat bermacam-macam jajanan yang sudah dikenal siswa, serta siswa dapat belajar sambil bermain sehingga menjadikan siswa merasa senang belajar tanpa paksaan dan tidak membosankan, diharapkan hasil penelitian ini sangat membantu guru dalam mengajarkan materi konsep penggunaan uang pada siswa tunagrahita ringan dengan mudah sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penggunaan uang secara maksimal bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus terutama siswa tunagrahita ringan. Dikarenakan masih banyak temuan yang belum dalam digali, maka peneliti/guru lain yang ingin meneliti lebih dalam diharapkan dapat melanjutkan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan temuan yang lebih signifikan, sehingga dapat terus meningkatkan kemampuan penggunaan uang siswa tunagrahita ringan. ABSTRACT The utilization of money for mild retardation mental students could not be separated from the ability to identify the money and to count up the money of shopping payment and shopping payback money. The retardation mental students could not able to think abstractly so that their ability of money utilization is still low. Monopoly game possesses a semi-concrete component so it makes the students easier to accept the material. The purpose of this research is to find out the utilization initial ability of mild retardation mental students, the implementation of learning uses monopoly game and the money utilization ability of mild retardation mental students after use the monopoly game. The method which is employed in this research uses research method of class action which consists of 3 cycles. In this research, the amount of research subject is 4 mild retardation mental students of the seventh grade of special need school. The result of the research indicates that four of the subjects show the improvement of money utilization ability on each cycle than the initial ability of mild retardation mental students, in this case to count up the shopping money and the shopping payback money. Moreover, the students’ activity when the learning process is going on and the teachers’ skills in learning activity also indicate improvement. The result of this research is expected could be used as a recommendation for teachers and students in learning process for special needs children, especially for mild retardation mental students who are the money utilization ability still low. Through this learning strategy of monopoly game, it could support the students to become more active and it is more interesting to the students because it contains various snacks which are already known by the students, and the students could also learn while playing so it makes the students feel happy to study without any coercion and it is not boring. It is expected that the result of this research could support the teachers in teaching the money utilization concept material to the mild retardation mental student easily so that it could improve money utilization ability maximally for special needs students, especially mild retardation mental students. Because there are still a lot of findings which have not been revealed, so the other researchers/teachers who want to research further are expected to continue this research to attain some findings that more significant, so that it could keep improving the money utilization of mild retardation mental students.
