Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan alat ukur efikasi matematika untuk siswa jenjang Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) dan sederajat yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah exploratory sequential design berupa mixed method kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil analisis kualitatif melalui focused group interview pada dua kelompok kecil siswa berjumlah delapan orang menunjukkan terdapat tujuh tema besar terkait efikasi matematika. Hasil kualitatif dijadikan dasar alat ukur yang terdiri dari 33 item dan diadministrasikan pada 478 partisipan. Hasil uji kuantitatif melalui uji validitas dengan Principal Component Analysis (PCA) menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat dimensi yang muncul dengan total variance explained sebesar 60,4%. Model tersebut diuji kembali kecocokannya dengan Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) dan memperoleh nilai indeks p < ,001 (χ2), 0,047 (SRMR), 0,907 (TLI), 0,918 (CFI), dan 0,064 (RMSEA). Keempat dimensi dinilai telah memenuhi standar indeks kecocokan dengan jumlah item tersisa sebanyak 23 item. Uji validitas didukung dengan hasil korelasi Pearson’s Product Moment sebesar 0,795 dalam uji validitas konvergen dengan alat ukur Math Attitude Scale (MAS) dan validitas divergen sebesar -0,331 dengan alat ukur Mathematic Self-Efficacy and Anxiety Questionnaire (MSEAQ). Reliabilitas alat ukur pun termasuk sangat baik dengan nilai Cronbach’s alpha sebesar 0,918. This study aims to develop a math efficacy scale for junior high school level students or equivalent based on Indonesian students’ characteristics. The study used exploratory sequential design with mixed methods. The results of qualitative analysis through focused group interviews on two small groups of eight students shows that seven major themes were related to mathematics efficacy. Qualitative analysis as the basis for a scale development consisting 33 items and is administered to 478 participants. The results of the quantitative analysis through validity test with Principal Component Analysis (PCA) shows that four dimensions appeared with total variance explained reached 60.4%. The model was re-tested for compatibility with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and obtained index values of p < 0.001 (χ2), 0.047 (SRMR), 0.907 (TLI), 0.918 (CFI), and 0.064 (RMSEA). The four dimensions have met the standard of fit index with 23 items remained. The validity test was also supported by Pearson's Product Moment correlation of 0.795 for convergent validity test with Math Attitude Scale (MAS) and divergent validity test of -0.331 with Mathematical Self-Efficacy and Anxiety Questionnaire (MSEAQ). The reliability of the scale was very good with Cronbach's alpha value of 0.918.
