Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini berawal dari permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan kemampuan berpikir simbolik anak usia 5-6 tahun. Hasil studi pendahuluan ditemukan proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru di kelompok B, seringkali menggunakan media pembejaran yang sederhana dan masih bersifat abstrak. Maka dari itu penelitian ini menerapkan multimedia interaktif yang memberikan materi pembelajaran yang mencoba untuk mengetahui pengaruh multimedia interaktif terhadap kemampuan berpikir simbolik anak usia 5-6 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kombinasi data (mixed methods). Dengan menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen. Jenis eksperimen yang digunakan adalah desain One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas B di salah satu TK Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019, sedangkan sampel penelitian berjumlah 12 siswa kelompok B yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Analisis data yang digunakan dengan menggunakan statistika deskriptif dan inferensial untuk mengetahui bagaimana signifikasi kemampuan berpifikir simbolik dengan menggunakan multimedia interaktif, serta efektifitas kemampuan berpikir simbolik menggunakan multimedia interaktif. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini berdasarkan uji paired sampel t test menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh multimedia interaktif terhadap kemampuan berpikir simbolik anak usia 5-6 tahun, serta memiliki peningkatan kemampuan berpikir simbolik yang ditunjukan dengan hasil rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,805 yang berada pada ketegori tinggi. Kata kunci : Berpikir Simbolik, Multimedia Interaktif ----- INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA EFFECT ON CHILDREN'S SYMBOLIC THINKING ABILITY OF 5-6 YEARS (Mixed Methods Research in Children 5-6 Years Old at One of the Purwakarta Kindergarten for Academic Year 2018/2019) Tia Meilia ABSTRACT This research starts from problems related to the symbolic thinking ability of children aged 5-6 years. The results of the preliminary study found the learning process carried out by teachers in group B, often using simple and still abstract learning media. So from that this study applies interactive multimedia that provides learning material that tries to find out the effect of interactive multimedia on the symbolic thinking ability of children aged 5-6 years. By using an experimental approach. The type of experiment used is the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study population was class B students in one of the Purwakarta Kindergarten in Academic Year 2018/2019, while the study sample consisted of 12 students in group B taken by purposive sampling. Data analysis used by using descriptive and inferential statistics to find out how the significance of symbolic thinking ability using interactive multimedia, as well as the effectiveness of the ability to think symbolically using interactive multimedia. The instruments used were observation sheets, field notes, and documentation. The results of this study based on a paired sample t test showed that there was an influence of interactive multimedia on the ability to symbolic thinking of children aged 5-6 years, and had an increase in symbolic thinking ability as indicated by the N-Gain average of 0.805 which was in the high category.
