Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tentang struktur cerita (tema, fakta cerita, dan makna cerita), nilai pendidikan karakter (18 nilai pendidikan karakter menurut Kemendiknas) dalam novel Jamparing dan penerapan hasil penelitian dalam pengajaran membaca novel remaja di kelas IX SMP. Tema yang diangkat dalam novel ini adalah tentang persahabatan. Alur dalam novel ini adalah alur maju. Halini terlihat dari setiap peristiwa-peristiwa yang terjadi. Tokoh-tokoh dalam novel ini berjumlah 41. Latar tempat yang ditemukan sebanyak 41. Latar waktu ditemukan adalah 21. Latar suasana yang ditemukan adalah 15. Judul dalam novel ini sesuai dengan isi karena dalam isi menceritakan perjalanan geng bernama Jamparing Cinta. Sudut pandang yang digunakan pengarang adalah sudut pandang orang ketiga. Gaya bahasa yang digunakan pengarang juga relatif sederhana. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari bahasa yang digunakan penulis yaitu bahasa yang mudah dipahami. Selain itu dalam novel ini ditemukan 7 gaya bahasa yaitu gaya bahasa simile (simile), Rarahulan (hiperbola), Mijalma (Personifikasi), Lalandian, Ocon (Metonymy), Rautan (Eufemisme), dan Kadalon (Pleonasm). 18 nilai pendidikan karakter menurut kemendiknas ada seluruhnya dalam novel. Selanjutnya hasil penelitian tersebut diterapkan pada bahan ajar membaca novel remaja di kelas IX SMP. The purpose of this study was to find out about the structure of the story (theme, story facts, and meaning of the story), the value of character education (18 values of character education according to the Ministry of National Education) in the novel Jamparing and the application of research results for teaching to read teenagers novels in class IX Junior High School. The theme raised in this novel is about friendship. The plot in this novel is a forward plot. This can be seen from every event that occurs. The characters in this novel are 41. The setting of the place found is 41. The setting of the time found is 21. The setting of the atmosphere found is 15. The title in this novel is in accordance with the content because in the content it tells the journey of a gang called Jamparing Cinta. The point of view used by the author is third person point of view. The style of language used by the author is also relatively simple. This can be seen from the language used by the author, which is a language that is easy to understand. In addition, this novel finds 7 language styles, namely silimile, hyperbole, personification, Lalandian, Ocon (Metonymy), Euphemism, and Pleonasm. 18 values of character education according to the Ministry of National Education exist entirely in the novel. Furthermore, the results of the study were applied to teaching materials for reading novels for teenagers in class IX of junior high school.
