Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis sisindiran. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mendéskripsikan kemampuan menulis sisindiran siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMAN 9 Bandung sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran concept sentence, 2) mendéskripsikan kemampuan menulis sisindiran siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMAN 9 Bandung setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran concept sentence, dan 3) menguji ada atau tidaknya perbedaan secara signifikan antara kemampuan menulis sisindiran siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMAN 9 Bandung sebelum dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran concept sentence. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one-group pretest and posttest. Tekhnik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes unjuk kerja. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa 1) kemampuan menulis sisindiran siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMAN 9 Bandung sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran concept sentence masih ada dalam kriteria belum mampu, dengan skor rata-rata siswa 63,2, 2) kemampuan menulis sisindiran siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMAN 9 Bandung setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran concept sentence sudah ada dalam kriteria mampu, dengan skor rata-rata siswa 80,6, dan 3) adanya perbedaan secara signifikan antara kemampuan menulis sisindiran siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMAN 9 Bandung sebelum dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran concept sentence yaitu dari kriteria belum mampu menjadi mampu, dengan skor rata-rata siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMAN 9 Bandung 63,2 menjadi 80,6 dan peningkatan sebesar 17,4. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukan bahwa thitung > ttabél yaitu 12,90 > 2,45, artinya hipotesis alternatif (Ha)diterima, sedangkan Hipotesis nol (Ho) ditolak. Jadi model pembelajaran concept sentence dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis sisindiran siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMAN 9 Bandung. Kata kunci: model pembelajaran concept sentence, kemampuan menulis sisindiran. This study was conducted according to the problem of the lack of students’ ability in writing sisindiran. In line with the background, this study aims at describing 1) students’ ability in writing sisindiran before using Concept Sentence learning model, 2) students’ ability in writing sisindiran after using Concept Sentence learning model and 3) the significance difference between students’ ability in writing sisindiran before and after using Concept Sentence learning model. This study used quasi-experimental method with one-group pretest and post test research design. Data collection techniques used in this study was work test. Based on the result of data analysis, it can be concluded that 1) students’ ability in writing sisindiran before using Concept Sentence learning model was still incompetent criteria, with the students’ mean score was 63,22; 2) students’ ability in writing sisindiran after using Concept Sentence learning model had been competent criteria, with the students’ mean score was 80,6 and 3) there was significance difference between students’ ability in writing sisindiran before and after using Concept Sentence learning model in which from incompetent criteria to be competent criteria, with the students’ mean score was from 63,2 to 80,6 with the improvement 17,4. The hypotheses test result shows that tvalue>ttable 12,90 > 2,45 , it means Ha was accepted, meanwhile Ho was rejected, therefore the Concept Sentence model is considered effective in improving students’ ability in writing sisindiran.
