Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Modél Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending (CORE) dina Pangajaran Maca Carita Babad Sumedang (Studi Kuasi Ékspérimén ka Siswa Kelas VII 02 SMP Negeri 1 Bandung Taun Ajaran 2013/2014)”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa dalam membaca nyaring cerita babad Sumedang dengan menggunakan model CORE. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan one group prettes-posttes design. Teknik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik tes. Dalam penelitian ini data dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik, yaitu berupa uji normalitas data, uji homogenitas, uji gain, serta uji hipotesis. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) kemampuan membaca nyaring cerita babad Sumedang siswa kelas VII 02 SMP Negeri 1 Bandung sebelum menggunakan modél pembelajaran CORE menghasilkan rata-rata 66,21, sehingga masuk dalam kategori belum mampu. Sedangkan setelah diberikan treatment menghasilkan rata-rata 83,51 dan dianggap sudah mampu membaca nyaring cerita babad Sumedang; (2) peningkatan hasil uji gain menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan sebelum dengan kemampuan sesudah menggunakan modél CORE, yaitu 66,21 menjadi 83,51 dengan beda 17,3; dan (3) dalam uji hipotesis menggunakan taraf kepercayaan 99% dengan db = 2,46 ada beda yang signifikan antara hasil pretes dan postes siswa titung (5,54) > ttabel (2,46). Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa titung > ttabel artinya hipotesis (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis (Ho) ditolak. Berdasarkan hasil di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran CORE bisa meningkatkan kemampuan membaca nyaring cerita babad Sumedang siswa kelas VII 02 SMP Negeri 1 Bandung tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Kata kunci: Model CORE, membaca, cerita babad. The purpose of this study was to describe the student’s skills in reading aloud Sumedang’s Babad story by using the model of CORE. The method used in this research was A Quasi Experimental Study with design one group pretest-posttes design. The Techniques used in this research was test techniques. In this research, the data were analyzed using statistical analysis, that was normality test, homogeneity test, gains test, and hypothesis test. The result from this research was (1) the ability to read Sumedang’s Babad story to the students of seventh grade 02 SMP Negeri 1 Bandung before used the CORE learning model generates an average 66,21, so that was enter in the category has not been able. Meanwhile, after being given treatment generates an average 83,51 and considered to be able to read Sumedang’s Babad story ; (2) the increase in the gain test results showed that there is a significant difference in the ability of reading Sumedang’s Babad story between before and after taught by using CORE model, it was 66,21 to 83,51, with difference 17,3; and (3) in hypothesis testing using a confidence level 99 % with db = 2,46 It means that there is a significant difference between pretest and posttest results of students, tobserved (5,54) > ttabel (2,46). Hypothesis test results indicate that tobserved > ttabel so that the hypotheses (Ha) is accepted and the hypotheses (Ho) is rejected. Based on the above results, it can be concluded that the CORE learning model can improve reading aloud skills Sumedang’s Babad story to the students of seventh grade 02 SMP Negeri 1 Bandung in academic year 2013/2014.
