Abstract
Penelitian yang telah dilakukan berjudul “Profil Model Mental Siswa pada Sub Materi Gaya Intermolekul Berdasarkan Wawancara Probing”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh profil model mental siswa pada sub materi pokok gaya intermolekul. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah enam orang siswa kelas XII di salah satu SMA Negeri di kota Bandung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan instrumen tes diagnostik model mental berdasarkan wawancara probing . Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa model mental siswa yang tidak sesuai dengan model mental target setelah diberikan pertanyaan probing muncul pada konsep gaya dipol-dipol, gaya dipol-dipol terimbas, gaya dispersi London, ikatan hidrogen dan gaya intermolekul itu sendiri. Model mental siswa yang sesuai dengan sebagian model mental target setelah diberi pertanyaan probing muncul pada konsep gaya intermolekul, hubungan gaya intermolekul dengan titik didih senyawa, gaya dipol-dipol, gaya dipol-dipol terimbas, ikatan hidrogen serta perbedaan kekuatan gaya intermolekul dan gaya intramolekul. Model mental siswa yang sesuai dengan seluruh model mental target setelah diberi pertanyaan probing muncul pada semua konsep, yaitu konsep gaya intermolekul, hubungan gaya intermolekul dengan titik didih senyawa, gaya dipol-dipol, gaya dipol-dipol terimbas, gaya dispersi London, ikatan hidrogen dan perbedaan kekuatan gaya intermolekul dan gaya intramolekul. Model mental siswa yang sesuai dengan seluruh model mental target tanpa diberikan pertanyaan probing hanya muncul pada konsep gaya dipol-dipol saja. Kata Kunci : model mental, probing, gaya intermolekul The research conducted entitled “Students’ Mental Models Profiles in Intermolecular Sub Content Based on Probing Interview” was aimed at finding out the students’ mental models profiles in intermolecular sub content. The subjects of the research were six students from grade XII in one public Senior High School in Bandung. This research employed descriptive method as the methodology with mental models diagnostic tests through probing interview as the instrument in gaining the data. The research showed that students’ mental models were not matched with mental models of the target after being given the probing question arise in the concept of force dipole-dipole, dipole-dipole force affected, London dispersion forces, hydrogen bonding, and intermolecular force itself. Students’ mental models corresponding to the entire mental models of the target after being given the probing questions appeared on all concepts, namely the concept of intermolecular force, intermolecular force relationship with boiling point compounds, the force dipole-dipole, dipole-dipole force affected, London dispersion force, hydrogen bonding, and differences in strength of intermolecular force and intermolecular force. Students’ mental models corresponding to the entire mental model given of the target without probing questions appeared only on the concept of dipole-dipole force.
