Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil observasi lapangan di sebuah Sekolah Dasar Negeri Kab. Kuningan yang menunjukkan kondisi keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar yang masih kurang paham akan simpulan bacaan yang sudah dibacanya dan belum tersedianya media pembelajaran khusus dalam membaca pemahaman. Merujuk pada hal tersebut penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan rancangan Media Komik Digital; (2) mendeskripsikan validasi media tersebut; dan (3) mendeskripsikan hasil pelaksanaan pada media tersebut. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pemgembangan dengan model ADDIE (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate). Tahap penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi: (1) tahap analisis; (2) tahap desain; (3) tahap pengembangan; (4) tahap implementasi; (5) dan tahap evaluasi. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik lembar catatan kerja (work logs) untuk data analisis, desain, pembuatan produk, teknik kuesioner untuk data validasi ahli, dan teknik wawancara untuk data wawancara siswa. Partisipan ditentukan menggunakan purposive sampling yang terdiri dari ahli materi, ahli media, dan siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Dalam mengolah data dilakukan analisis data model Miles dan Huberman berupa reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dan pembahasan penelitian pengembangan ini menghasilkan draft desain media yang dikembangkan meliputi (1) GBPM; (2) flowchart; (3) storyline; serta menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran yaitu Media Komik Digital. Produk komik digital ini tervalidasi oleh ahli materi, dan ahli media berkategori “Sangat Layak” dengan satu kali revisi pengembangan merujuk pada saran perbaikan para ahli. Dengan demikian implikasi pada penelitian Media Komik Digital ini yang dikembangkan layak dan dapat digunakan oleh pendidik dan siswa sebagai media pembelajaran materi teks eksplanasi untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. This research was motivated by the results of field observations at a Kuningan Regency State Elementary School which showed the condition of reading comprehension skills of fifth grade elementary school students who still did not understand the conclusions of the readings they had read and the absence of special learning media for reading comprehension. Referring to this, this research aims to: (1) describe the development design of Digital Comic Media; (2) describe the results of the media development; and (3) describe the results of the validity of the media. This research uses a development research method with the ADDIE model (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate). The stages of the research carried out include: (1) the analysis stage; (2) design stage; (3) development stage; (4) implementation stage; (5) and evaluation stage. Data were collected through work logs for data analysis, design, product manufacturing, questionnaire techniques for expert validation data, and interview techniques for student interview data. Participants were determined using purposive sampling consisting of material experts, media experts, and fifth grade elementary school students. In processing the data, data analysis of the Miles and Huberman models was carried out in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results and discussion of this development research resulted in a draft of the media design that was developed including (1) GBPM; (2) flowcharts; (3) storylines; and produced learning media products, namely Digital Comic Media. This digital comic product was validated by material experts, and media experts were categorized as "Very Eligible" with development revisions referring to expert suggestions for improvement. Thus, the implication of this research is that the Digital Comic Media developed is feasible and can be used by educators and students as a medium for learning explanatory text material to improve reading comprehension skills of fifth grade elementary school students.
