Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan yang dijumpai disalah satu TK di Kecamatan Margaasih. Masalah yang ditemukan mengenai kosakata anak pada usia 5-6 tahun. Kesulitan yang dialami anak yaitu anak tidak dapat mengeluarkan jawaban atau pendapatnya saat guru bertanya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui cara meningkatkan kemampuan kosakata anak dan untum mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan kosakata anak setelah penerapan media pop up book. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian tindakan (PT) model Pelton. Model ini memiliki 5 tahap dalam setiap tindakannya, diantaranya yaitu: identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, perencanaan tindakan, merencanakan aktivitas dan penilaian hasil. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan melalui lembar observasi, catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi. Pada pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi berupa lembar kegiatan aktivitas anak dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan kosakata anak setelah penerapan media pop up book mengalami peningkatan dalam setiap tindakan. Hal ini terlihat dari empat indikator yaitu mendengar, berbicara, menulis dan membaca. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan media pop up book dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kosakata anak. ----- This research is motivated by problems found in one of the kindergartens in Margaasih Subdistrict. Problems found regarding the vocabulary of children at the age of 5-6 years. The difficulty experienced by children is that children cannot issue answers or opinions when the teacher asks questions. The purpose of this study is to find out how to improve children's vocabulary skills and to know the improvement of children's vocabulary skills after the application of pop up book media. The research method used is pelton model action research (PT). This model has 5 stages in each action, including: problem identification, data collection, action planning, planning activities and assessment of results. The data collection technique in this study was carried out through observation sheets, field records and documentation. In data collection using observation sheets in the form of child activity sheets in the learning process. The results showed that children's vocabulary ability after the application of pop up book media increased in each action. This is seen from four indicators, namely listening, speaking, writing and reading. Thus it can be concluded that the application of pop up book media can improve children's vocabulary skills.
