Abstract

ABSTRAK Permasalahan yang sering kali kita temukan di dunia pendidikan anak usia dini adalah kita melihat anak menunjukkan sikap dan perilaku yang sedang bosan pada saat belajar di kelas. Sikap bosan dapat ditimbulkan akibat metode pengajaran yang terkesan sangat monoton untuk anak-anak usia dini. Seperti halnya membaca sambil duduk di kursi, menghitung jumlah objek dengan seksama, dan kegiatan yang membosankan lainnya untuk anak usia dini. Penulis menyadari bahwa ada hal lain yang dapat meningkatkan daya minat dan daya tarik anak usia dini dalam belajar dan bermain di kelas. Salah satu kegiatan yang dapat meningkatkan minat anak adalah bermain permainan puzzle geometri. Di dalam permainan puzzle geometri terdapat warna dan bentuk yang variatif. Selain itu juga terdapat sudut yang dapat dihitung dari masing-masing bentuk geometri pada puzzle tersebut. Pada penulisan ini, penulis melakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh puzzle geometri untuk pengembangan kognitif anak usia dini menggunakan metode kuantitatif Single Subject Research. Penelitian ini berhasil dilakukan pada satu anak usia dini dengan perhitungan mean level yang cenderung meningkat. Pada tahap Baseline 1 (A), dilakukan sebanyak 3 sesi dan didapatkan rerata sebesar 11 poin dari 44 poin sempurna, Mean Level yang dihasilkan sebesar 25%. Pada tahap Intervensi (B), dilakukan sebanyak 5 sesi dan didapatkan rerata 18.6 poin dari 44 poin sempurna, Mean Level yang dihasilkan sebesar 42.27%. Pada tahap terakhir yaitu tahap Baseline 2 (A’), dilakukan sebanyak 3 sesi dan didapatkan rerata sebesar 41 poin dari 44 poin sempurna, Mean Level yang dihasilkan sebesar 93.18%. ----- ABSTRACT The problem that we often find in the world of early childhood education is that we see children showing attitudes and behaviors that are bored when studying in class. Boredom can be caused by teaching methods that seem very monotonous for early childhood children. Like reading while sitting in a chair, counting the number of objects carefully, and other boring activities for early childhood. The author realizes that there are other things that can increase the interest and attractiveness of early childhood in learning and playing in the classroom. One of the activities that can increase children's interest is playing geometry puzzle games. In the geometry puzzle game there are various colors and shapes. In addition, there are also angles that can be calculated from each geometric shape in the puzzle. At this writing, the authors conducted research on the effect of geometric puzzles for early childhood cognitive development using the quantitative method of Single Subject Research. This research was successfully carried out in one early childhood with the calculation of the mean level which tends to increase. In the Baseline 1 (A) stage, there were 3 sessions and an average of 11 points out of 44 perfect points was obtained, the resulting Mean Level was 25%. In the Intervention stage (B), 5 sessions were carried out and an average of 18.6 points out of 44 perfect points was obtained, the resulting Mean Level was 42.27%. In the last stage, the Baseline 2 (A') stage, 3 sessions were conducted and an average of 41 points out of 44 perfect points was obtained, the Mean Level generated was 93.18%.
