    Abstract

    Penelitian yang dilatarbelakangi oleh kenyataan bahwa orang tua yang memiliki anak dengan hambatan penglihatan majemuk memiliki banyak masalah. Permasalahan tersebut seharusnya mendapat perhatian dari guru sebagai upaya untuk mencegah dan mengatasi dampaknya agar tidak meluas dan menjadi kompleks. Tindakan tersebut dapat diwujudkan melalui program intervensi berbasis family quality of life yang menjadikan keluarga sebagai pusat belajar yang pertama bagi seorang anak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah orang tua dari anak dengan hambatan penglihatan majemuk yang berada di SLB-A Bartemeus Manado. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan dengan cara reduksi data, display data, pengambilan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) belum ada program intervensi bagi orang tua anak dengan hambatan penglihatan majemuk di sekolah (2) program intervensi berbasis family quality of life disusun berdasarkan hasil asesmen dan dan kebutuhan orang tua. dan (3) berdasarkan pendapat guru dan orang tua program intervensi sangat bermanfaat dan layak digunakan. Rekomendasi yang dapat dikemukakan berdasarkan hasil penelitian adalah (1) perlu adanya inovasi bagi seorang guru dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, (2) bagi orang tua perlu menjalin relasi yang baik dengan guru, (3) dalam program kerja sekolah perlu adanya program intervensi untuk orang tua, dan (4) bagi peneliti selanjutnya perlu dilakukan penelitian kembali untuk menghasilkan program yang lebih valid dan dapat digunakan secara luas.

    The background of this research is based on the fact that parents of children with multiple disability and visual impairments have a number of problems. It should take more concerns from the teachers, as a form of intervention to solve the problem and prevent it from getting bigger and more complex. The action can be applied through an intervention program based on family quality of life which makes family the ultimate learning center for a child. The research provides an objective description on an intervention program based on family quality of life and its benefits for parents in doing intervention to their own children. The method used in this research was descriptive using qualitative approach. The subjects were parents of children with multiple disability and visual impairments at Bartemeus Special Needs School-A, Manado. The techniques of data collection are in the forms of observation, interview, and documentary study. The results of the research conclude generally that (1) there had been no intervention program for parents of children with multiple disability and visual impairments in the work programs of the teachers and the school, (2) the intervention program based on family quality of life is designed based on the objective condition and needs of the parents, (3) after testing, the created program showed more benefits as proven by parents’ responses and enthusiasms in conducting the program. Based on the results, the followings are recommended: (1) There need to be innovations for the teacher in improving the quality of teaching and learning; (2) Parents need to build good relationships with teachers; (3) School’s work programs need to include intervention program for parents; and (4) Further researchers need to do more research to create a more valid and generally applicable program.
