Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan yang dialami anak dalam mengenal huruf abjad. Faktor penyebabnya yaitu anak tidak tertarik dengan kegiatan pengenalan huruf abjad. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, dapat dilakukan penerapan media pembelajaran busy book untuk pengenalan huruf abjad pada anak usia 4-5 tahun. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi kemampuan mengenal huruf abjad pada anak usia 4-5 tahun sebelum da setelah menggunakan busy book serta menganalisis perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan mengenal abjad pada anak sebelum dengan setelah menggunakan busy book. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kuantitatif deengan desain penelitian yaitu pre-experimental design dan jenis desain one group pre-test-post-test design. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pada penerapan media pembelajaran busy book terhadap kemampuan mengenal huruf abjad pada anak usia 4-5 tahun. Hal ini dapat dilihat berdasarkan analisis data pre-test dan post-test yang mengalami peningkatan nilai rata-rata secara keseluruhan sebesar 42,25. Berdasarkan N-gain score, peningkatan kemampuan mengenal huruf abjad pada anak usia 4-5 tahun di TK X, nilai rata-rata g= 0,997 > 0,7, termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. ----- This research is motivated by the difficulties experienced by children in recognizing the letters of the alphabet. The contributing factor is that children are not interested in the activities of recognizing letters of the alphabet. Based on these problems, thelearning media can be applied busy book for the introduction of the letters of the alphabet in children aged 4-5 years. The purpose of this study is to identify the ability to recognize the letters of the alphabet in children aged 4-5 years before and after using the busy book and to analyze the significant difference between the ability to recognize the alphabet in children before and after using the busy book. This study uses a quantitative approach with a research design that is pre-experimental design and the type of design is one group pre-test-post-test design. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in the application oflearning media busy book to the ability to recognize the letters of the alphabet in children aged 4-5 years. This can be seen based on the analysis of thedata pre-test and post-test which experienced an increase in the overall average value of 42.25. Based on the N-gain score, the increase in the ability to recognize letters of the alphabet in children aged 4-5 years in Kindergarten X, the average value of g = 0.997 > 0.7, is included in the high category.
