Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi rendahnya keterampilan menulis huruf kapital beberapa siswa kelas II di salah satu Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Purwakarta Kabupaten Purwakarta. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut peneliti menerapkan pendekatan yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis huruf kapital yaitu menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis huruf kapital siswa kelas II setelah diterapkan pendekatan kontekstual. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode eksperimen subjek tunggal desain A-B. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu tiga orang. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi dan tes. Data yang diperoleh disajikan dalam bentuk grafik dan tabel. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan penelitian, pendekatan kontekstual dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis huruf kapital, hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari semakin kecilnya frekuensi kesalahan yang terjadi pada fase intervensi. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan pendekatan kontekstual mampu meningkatakan keterampilan menulis huruf kapital siswa pada tiga subjek tersebut. Kata Kunci: Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL); Keterampilan Menulis Huruf Kapital Siswa. ----- ABSTRACT This research was motivated by the low skills of writing capital letters of some grade II students at one of the elementary schools in Purwakarta District of Purwakarta Regency. To overcome this problem, researchers apply an approach that can improve capital letter writing skills, using contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approaches. The purpose of this study is to improve the capital letter writing skills of grade II students after applying contextual approaches. The method used in this study is the single subject experimental method of A-B design. The subjects of this study were three people. The study's data collection uses observation and test techniques. The data obtained is presented in the form of graphs and tables. Based on the results and discussion of research, contextual approaches can improve the skills of capital letter writing, it can be seen from the smaller frequency of errors that occur in the intervention phase. So that it can be concluded contextual approach is able to improve the skills of writing capital letters students on these three subjects.
