Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran membaca permulaan bagi siswa kelas I Sekolah dasar berupa buku latihan siswa serta buku panduan praktis bagi guru serta orang tua. Media membaca permulaan yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti menggunakan metode Design and Development (D&D) dengan model yang dikembangkan oleh Peffer, dkk. Metode ini memiliki 6 tahapan, di antaranya: (1) Mengidentifikasi masalah, yakni melakukan observasi terhadap masalah pembelajaran membaca permulaan, di mana siswa sudah mampu membaca abjad, akan tetapi masih melakukan kesalahan dalam membaca kata atau kalimat sederhana, serta ketidaktersediaan buku panduan guru dan orang tua untuk mengajarkan membaca permulaan kepada siswa. (2) Mendeskripsikan tujuan, adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan buku latihan siswa dan buku panduan guru serta orang tua, dan mengetahui hasil dari pengembangan buku latihan siswa dan buku panduan guru serta orang tua. (3) Desain dan Pengembangan Media, merancang pembuatan media pembelajaran membaca permulaan bagi siswa kelas I Sekolah Dasar, lalu didesain, serta dikembangkan menjadi sebuah buku latihan siswa dan buku panduan praktis bagi guru serta orang tua. (4) Menguji media, media yang telah dibuat kemudian diuji coba atau divalidasi oleh ahli media pembelajaran, ahli materi bahasa Indonesia, guru, orang tua, dan siswa. (5) Mengevaluasi hasil uji coba produk, peneliti melakukan validasi untuk mengetahui kelayakan dari media yang telah dikembangkan. Kemudian diperoleh hasil berupa persentase rata-rata kelayakan buku latihan siswa sebesar 89,89%, dengan kategori “Sangat Baik”, serta 90,98% dengan kategori “Sangat Baik” untuk buku panduan guru serta orang tua. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan tanggapan positif dari siswa terhadap media pembelajaran membaca permulaan yang telah dikembangkan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa Buku Latihan Siswa dan Buku Panduan Guru serta Orang Tua layak digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas I Sekolah Dasar. (6)Mengomunikasikan hasil ujicoba, hasil dari uji coba kemudian dikomunikasikan melalui laporan skripsi (tertulis) dan ujian sidang (lisan). The objective of this research is developing early reading media for grade I elementary school in the form of a student exercise book, and guidebook for teachers and parents. Early reading media developed by a researcher using Design and Development (D&D) method with the model developed by Peffer, et al. This method has 6 stages, including : (1) Identify Problems, that is make an observation of early reading, which students are able to read alphabet, but still make mistakes in reading simple words or sentences, and the unavailability of guidebook for teachers and parents to teach early reading to students. (2) Describe the goal, the purpose of this research is to develop student exercise books and guidebooks for teachers and parents, and knowing the results of development student exercise book guidebooks for teachers and parents. (3) Media Design and Development, designing learning media of early reading for grade 1 elementary school students, then designed and developed into student exercise books and guidebooks for teachers and parents. (4) Test the Media, media that has been created then tested or validated by learning media experts, indonesian material expert, teacher, parents, and students, (5) Evaluating trial product results, researcher validated to determine the feasibility of the media that had been developed. After that the results obtained in the form of an average percentage of the feasibility of student practice books of 89,68% with the “very good” category, and 91,96% with the “very good” category in practical guidebooks for teacher and parents. The results of the interviews showed positive responses from students to the early reading learning media that had been developed. This shows that the Student Exercise Book and Guidebook for Teachers and Parents are appropriate for use in learning activities in grade I Elementary School. (6) Communicating test results, test results then communicated through thesis report (written) and oral exam (spoken).
