Abstract
Movement activities are very important and need to be developed from an early age, especially activities related to agility, strength, and balance in early childhood. To optimize gross motor physical development such as jumping, jumping, walking, and throwing, learning while playing methods should be needed. Using traditional games can train children's ability to move their bodies, train children's dexterity and agility in games and children will appear interested and active to learn physical movements with a happy heart. The purpose of this study was to identify various physical motor development processes through traditional games of engklek, jump rope and shell stilts and to find out whether traditional games are able to develop physical motoric skills for children aged 5-6 years. This study uses a qualitative approach using a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this study were five children aged 5-6 years in Gombang Village Rt.21 Rw.05 Plumbon District, Cirebon Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation and documentation techniques. The results showed that there was a physical motor development that developed through the game of crank, jump rope and shell stilts so that it could be an alternative to stimulate the physical motor development of children aged 5-6 years.
