Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis menjadikan hambatan bagi peserta didik mengingat berpikir kritis merupakan aspek penting dalam pembelajaran PPKn. Model pembelajaran guided disocvery learning dapat memberikan kesempatan bagi peserta didik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran guided discovery learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik terhadap materi PKn (Integrasi nasional). Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan pada kelas X MIPA A SMAN 58 Jakarta sebagai subjek penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis kualitatif dengan tahapan reduksi, display, dan penyimpulan, serta analisis kuantitatif deskriptif. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Perencanaan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran guided discovery learning dengan membuat Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) menyesuaikan dengan silabus, (2) Pelaksanaan pembelajaran PKn dengan model pembelajaran guided discovery learning dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus, dengan langkah pemberian rangsangan, identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, pengolahan data, pembuktian dan generalisasi. (3) Penerapan model pembelajaran guided discovery learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. (4) Kurangnya konsistensi peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran menyebabkan peneliti harus memberikan stimulus agar peserta didik dapat berperan secara aktif, Dengan demikian model pembelajaran guided discovery learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. ABSTRACT ANNISA CHAERANI (1704956), IMPROVING STUDENTS’ CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS IN CIVIC EDUCATION MATERIALS: NATIONAL INTEGRATION THROUGH GUIDED DISCOVERY LEARNING MODEL AT CLASS X MIPA-A SMAN 58 JAKARTA The low level of critical thinking skills causes an obstacle for students considering that critical thinking is an important aspect of learning Civic Education. Guided discovery learning model may give an opportunity for students in improving their critical thinking skills. This study aimed to identify the application of guided discovery learning model in improving students’ critical thinking skills in Civic Education materials (national integration). A qualitative approach was used in Classroom Action Research method which had been conducted on the students of X MIPA A class in SMAN 58 Jakarta as the subject of research. The data collection techniques were observation, interview, and documentation. The data was analyzed qualitatively by the steps of reduction, display, and inference as well as descriptive quantitative analysis. The results of study indicated as follows: (1) Lesson planning used a guided discovery learning model by creating a lesson plan based on the syllabus. (2) The implementation of Civic Education lesson using guided discovery learning model was conducted in 3 cycles by stimulation, problem identification, data collection, data processing, verification, and generalization. (3) The implementation of a guided discovery learning model could improve students’ critical thinking skills. (4) The lack of students’ consistency during the learning process made the researcher had to provide a stimulus so they were eager to actively participate in the learning process. Thus, the application of guided discovery learning in the learning process could improve students’ critical thinking skills. Keywords: Critical Thinking, Guided Discovery Learning, Civic Education
