Abstract

Kata kunci: keterampilan menulis cerita pendek, metode quantum learning, penelitian tindakan kelas Abstract: This research occurred with a background of knowledge by the difficulties of 9A students at SMPN 5 Cimahi in representing ideas and developing them into a complete short story. The researcher has a purpose to improve the writing short story competition on 9A students. This study used a research method of classroom action research (CAR) which was conducted in three cycles. There were a total 30 numbers of students involved in this research from 9A's class at SMPN 5 Cimahi. The instruments used in this study were the Learning Implementation Plan (LIP), questionnaires, observation sheets, and tests which were in the form of an assignment to write a short story. Based on the data, starting from the first cycle, there were 7 students who reached a score to the KKM, and 23 students did not reach a score to the KKM with an average score of 70. Moving on to the second cycle, there were 15 students who reached a score to the KKM, and 15 students did not reach a score to the KKM with an average score of 73. In the third cycle, there were 28 students who reached a score to the KKM, and 2 students did not reach a score to the KKM with an average score of 79. According to the results, it could be seen that there was an improvement skill in each cycle. Furthermore, it could be concluded that the skill of writing short stories for grade 9A students of SMPN 5 Cimahi can improved by quantum learning method. Keywords: short story writing skill, quantum learning method, class action research.
