Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan konseptual C2 mahasiswa melalui metode peer teaching. Penelitian ini melibatkan mahasiswa semester 6 Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini di UPI Kampus Purwakarta yang berjumlah 60 orang dengan teknik pengambilan sample yang digunakan yaitu Purposive Sampling. Jenis Penelitian adalah Pre-experiment dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Instrument yang digunakan adalah tes pengetahuan konseptual C2 tentang STEAM-PBL yang disajikan dalam bentuk multiple choices. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (i) Pengetahuan konseptual C2 mahasiswa calon guru PAUD pada topik STEAM-PBL sebelum mengikuti perkuliahan menggunakan metode peer teaching relative rendah. Hal tersebut dilihat dari hasil nilai rata-rata pretest 54.39; (ii) Pengetahuan konseptual C2 mahasiswa calon guru PAUD setelah mengikuti perkuliahan menggunakan metode peer teaching mengalami peningkatan. Hal tersebut dilihat dari nilai rata-rata posttest yang mengalami peningkatan menjadi 76.52 serta nilai N-gain yang berada pada kategori sedang (0.47); (iii) Terdapat perbedaan signifikan terhadap pengetahuan konseptual C2 mahasiswa calon guru PAUD. Pengaruh tersebut terbukti dari hasil uji hipotesis yang memperoleh nilai sig.(2-tailed) (0,000) < nilai taraf signifikansi (0,05), sehingga diperoleh keputusan H_0 ditolak dan H_1 diterima. ----- The aim of this study to increase students' conceptual knowledge of C2 through peer teaching methods. This study involved 60 students in the 6th semester of the Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Study Program at UPI Campus Purwakarta. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The type of research is Pre-experiment with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The instrument used in this research is a C2 conceptual knowledge test about STEAM-PBL which is presented in the form of multiple choices. The results of this study indicate that (i) C2 conceptual knowledge of prospective PAUD teacher students on the STEAM-PBL topic before attending lectures using the peer teaching method is relatively low. This can be seen from the results of the average pretest score of 54.39; (ii) The C2 conceptual knowledge of prospective PAUD teacher students after attending lectures using the peer teaching method has increased. This can be seen from the posttest average value which has increased to 76.52 and the N-gain value which is in the medium category (0.47); (iii) There is a significant difference in the conceptual knowledge of C2 prospective PAUD teacher students. This effect is evident from the results of the hypothesis test which obtained a value of sig.(2-tailed) (0.000) < the value of the significance level (0.05), so that the decision H_0 was rejected and H_1 was accepted.
