Abstract

Motivasi belajar merupakan salah satu faktor keberhasilan belajar siswa. Namun, motivasi belajar siswa disinyalir rendah, tidak semua siswa termotivasi dan aktif dalam pembelajaran. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran tematik menggunakan strategi crossword puzzle di SD Negeri 2 Cipaisan Kecamatan Purwakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimen dengan one group pretest-posttest design. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV sebanyak 20 orang. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik non-tes yaitu inventori (skala sikap) dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif, uji T, uji regresi linier sederhana, uji koefesien determinasi dan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan strategi crossword puzzle dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Cipaisan. Rata-rata motivasi belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari skor rata-rata pretest sebesar 37,45 menjadi 45,60 pada posttest. Selain itu pada uji T menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 yang kurang dari 0,05 yang artinya motivasi belajar siswa mengalami perbedaan yang signifikan. Berdasarkan hasil uji regresi linier sederhana, diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 dan diperoleh koefesien determinasi (R Square) sebesar 0,476 yang artinya besar pengaruh strategi crossword puzzle terhadap motivasi belajar siswa sebesar 47,6%. Kemudian nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,43 menunjukkan motivasi belajar mengalami peningkatan sedang. ----- Learning motivation is one of the success factors for students's learning. However, the learning motivation of students is considered low, not all students are as motivated and actively in learning . Therefore, this study aims to increase the learning motivation of students in thematic learning using the crossword puzzle in 2 Cipaisan Elementary School Purwakarta. The method of study used was pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. Samples of the study were 20 4th-grade students. The data collection in this study was conducted by non-test technique, inventory (attitude scale and interviews), then the data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, T-test, simple linear regression, coefficient of determination test, and N-Gain test. The results of the study show that the use of crossword puzzle strategy can increase the learning motivation of IVth-grade students in 2 Cipaisan Elementary School. The average learning motivation of students has an increase from an average pretest score of 37.45 to 45.60 for a post-test score. Furthermore, the T-test resulted in a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. This means that the learning motivation of students has significant differences. Based on the results of a simple linear regression test, the significance value of 0.000 and coefficient of determination value (R Square) of 0.476 were obtained. This means that the impact of crossword puzzle strategy on the learning motivation of students is 47.6%. Moreover, the average N-Gain value was 0.433 showing that the learning motivation of students has a moderate increase.
