Abstract

Karakter merupakan salah satu tonggak dalam kemajuan suatu bangsa. Bangsa yang kuat lahir dari jiwa yang berkarakter. Karakter merupakan sifat atau perilaku yang ada pada diri seseorang yang membedakan dirinya dengan orang lain. Pada dasarnya karakter setiap orang adalah baik namun seiring dengan pertambahan usia dan perubahan pada lingkungan mengakibatkan karakter seseorang dapat menjadi buruk. Maka untuk mengatasi hal itu terjadi perlunya diberikan penanaman nilai-nilai karakter kepada anak sejak dini. Dalam Kurikulum 2013, Pemerintah sudah melakukan usaha terbaiknya untuk mengedepankan pendidikan karakter dengan memasukkan pendidikan karakter kedalam buku ajar yaitu Buku Tematik Terpadu Kurikulum 2013. Tema Peduli Terhadap Makhluk Hidup merupakan salah satu Buku Tema Kurikulum 2013 Kelas IV SD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai karakter yang terkandung dalam buku tema tersebut. Nilai karakter yang dianalisis merujuk pada lima nilai karakter utama dalam PPK. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode analisis isi dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa dalam buku tematik sudah mengandung kelima nilai karakter utama dalam PPK. Frekuensi nilai karakter yang sering muncul yaitu NIG, NMD, NGR, NNS, dan NRG. Diharapkan dengan dilakukannya analisis nilai karakter ini dapat menjadi motivasi bagi semua orang untuk terus menanamkan dan menerapkan nilai-nilai karakter dimanapun ia berada. ----- Character is one of the pillars in the progress of a nation. A strong nation is born from a soul of character. Character is a trait or behavior that exists in a person that distinguishes himself from others. Basically, everyone's character is good, but with age and changes in the environment, a person's character can become bad. So to overcome this, it is necessary to give character values to children from an early age. In the Curriculum 2013, the Government has made its best efforts to promote character education by incorporating character education into the textbook, namely the Curriculum 2013 Integrated Thematic Book. This study aims to identify the character values contained in the theme book. The analyzed character values refer to the five main character values in PPK. The research method used is content analysis method with a qualitative approach. The results of the research that have been carried out show that the thematic books already contain the five main character values in PPK. The frequency of character values that often appear are NIG, NMD, NGR, NNS, and NRG. It is hoped that this analysis of character values can be a motivation for everyone to continue to instill and apply character values wherever we are.
