Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya nilai hasil ulangan IPS pada pokok bahasan perjuangan mempertahankan kemerdekaan, hal ini ditandai nilai KKM masih mencapai 47,6, padahal target yang diharapkan 63, demikian pula cara guru melaksanakan pembelajaran masih bersifat konvensional yaitu hanya menggunakan metode ceramah. Penelitian ini ditujukan pada penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) dalam pembelajaran IPS pokok bahasan Perjuangan Mempertahankan Kemerdekaan. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka tujuan penelitian yang hendak dicapai adalah: (1) untuk mengungkap proses pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD pada materi perjuangan mempertahankan kemerdekaan dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas V SDN Pagerwangi I dan (2) mengungkap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD pada materi perjuangan mempertahankan kemerdekaan dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas V SDN Pagerwangi I. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengadaptasi model Kemmis & Mc. Taggart dengan dua siklus, yang pada setiap siklusnya dilakukan satu tindakan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V semester II SDN Pagerwangi I Lembang Kabupaten Bandung Barat yang berjumlah 36 orang. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD pada pembelajaran IPS menunjukkan adanya peningkatan proses pembelajaran berdasarkan lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan lembar tes hasil belajar, terlihat siswa sangat senang bekerja dalam kelompoknya masing-masing, demikian pula perolehan nilai siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS pokok bahasan perjuangan mempertahankan kemerdekaan mengalami peningkatan. Pada siklus pertama rata-rata nilai siswa mencapai 61,6. Pada siklus kedua mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata nilai mencapai 71,1 atau sebanyak 81% siswa yang mencapai nilai KKM. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS dengan pokok bahasan perjuangan mempertahankan kemerdekaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, ada beberapa saran yang hendak disampaikan, antara lain: (1) guru diharapkan dapat mencoba mengkaji dan mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran tersebut tentang pokok bahasan lainnya pada pembelajaran IPS dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas proses dan hasil pembelajaran IPS, (2) dengan terjalinnya hubungan sosial diantara siswa, guru diharapkan dapat membaurkan kembali kelompok siswa agar diantara semua siswa dapat terjalin hubungan yang baik dalam proses pembelajaran. This study aimed at using cooperative learning model of type Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) in the social studies (IPS) subjects Retain Independence Struggle. Based on these problems, the research objectives to be achieved are: First to reveal the type STAD cooperative learning process in the struggle for independence in a matter of learning social studies in fifth grades of SDN Pagerwangi I, Secondly reveal improvement of student learning outcomes by using the method of type STAD cooperative learning in the struggle for independence in a matter of learning social studies in fifth grades of SDN Pagerwangi I. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which adapt the model of Kemmis & Mc. Taggart with two cycles, wich that in each cycle was performed a single act. The subject of this study is the second semester of fifth grade students of SDN Pagerwangi I Kabupaten Lembang, amounting to 36 students. The results of studies using cooperative learning type STAD the social studies showed an increase in the learning process is based on observations of student activity sheets and sheets of test results to learn, students look very happy working in their respective group, as well as the acquisition value of social studies of students in learning the subject has increased the defense of their independence. In the first cycle of the average value of 61.6 students achieve. In the second cycle has increased by an average value reached 71.1, or as much as 81% of students who reach the grade of KKM. Based on the above results, we can conclude that use of models of type STAD cooperative learning can improve student learning outcomes in social studies to the subject of the struggle for independence. Based on these results, there are a few suggestions that were trying to convey, among others: First the teachers are expected to try to assess and implement the model of learning about other subjects in learning social studies in an effort to improve the quality of the learning process and outcomes of social studies. Secondly the social relations among students, teachers are expected to blend back among all groups of students so that students can be established a good relationship in the learning process.
