Abstract
Fenomena pelecehan seksual merupakan hasil dari permasalahan gender yang membuat hubungan sosial-komunikasi antara laki-laki dan perempuan tidak berjalan dengan sempurna. Kondisi ini tidak dapat dipisahkan dari hubungan sosial-komunikasi dan hubungan profesional sehingga menjadi permasalahan utama dalam kehidupan pewarta perempuan Indonesia yang bekerja di tengah lingkungan kerja patriarki. Studi fenomenologi ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran pengalaman pewarta perempuan di Indonesia dalam menghadapi permasalahan pelecehan seksual pada profesinya. Penelitian ini mengikutsertakan 9 pewarta perempuan aktif yang tersebar di berbagai daerah di Indonesia, yakni 2 orang dari daerah konflik, 3 orang dari ibu Kota, dan 5 lainnya yang berasal dari kota-kota besar, yang diambil melalui teknik purposive sampilng dan snowball sampling. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi tiga tema utama: (1) pemahaman pewarta perempuan mengenai pelecehan seksual di lingkungan kerja jurnalistik, (2) Gambaran pengalaman pelecehan seksual yang pernah dihadapi pewarta perempuan di Indonesia beserta dampak yang dirasakannya, dan (3) Strategi serta hambatan dalam menghadapi pelecehan seksual. Rekomendasi dari hasil penelitian ini, diharapkan dapat memberi masukan kepada pewarta perempuan, khususnya, serta seluruh bagian dari media, umumnya, guna lebih meningkatkan kepekaan serta kesadaran akan pentingnya menangani kasus pelecehan seksual dalam profesi jurnalistik. The phenomenon of sexual harassment is the result of gender problems that make social-communication relations between men and women not work perfectly. This condition cannot be separated from social-communication relations and professional relations so that it becomes a major problem in the lives of Indonesian women journalists who work in a patriarchal work environment. This phenomenological study was goals to describe the experience of Indonesian women journalists in dealing with the problem of sexual harassment in their profession. This study included 9 active female journalists spread across various regions in Indonesia, namely 2 people from conflict areas, 3 people from the capital city, and 5 others from big cities, which were taken through purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The results of the study identified three main themes: (1) Women journalists' understanding of sexual harassment in the journalistic work environment, (2) Description of the experience of sexual harassment that has been faced by female journalists in Indonesia and the impact they have felt, and (3) Strategies and obstacles in dealing with sexual harassment. Recommendations from the results of this study are expected to provide input to women journalists, in particular, and all parts of the media, in general, to further increase sensitivity and awareness of the importance of handling cases of sexual harassment in the journalistic profession.
