Abstract
Berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) tahun 2012 tingkat pengangguran lulusan SMK masih tinggi padahal idealnya lulusan SMK merupakan tenaga kerja yang siap kerja. Salah satu kemungkinan yang menjadi faktor penyebab tingginya tingkat pengangguran lulusan SMK adalah masih sedikitnya siswa SMK yang mempunyai kesiapan kerja dan belum mengetahui apa yang sebenarnya dibutuhkan dan dicari oleh dunia kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memberikan gambaran serta informasi mengenai persepsi siswa SMK tentang kemampuan yang harus dimiliki seseorang dalam memasuki dunia kerja (employability skills). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa-siswa kelas XII SMK Negeri 12 Bandung tahun ajaran 2012/2013 dan karyawan PT. Dirgantara Indonesia Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket dan analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dengan perhitungan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa SMK lebih rendah dari kriteria employability skills yang dibutuhkan industri, dengan gap tertinggi yaitu kemampuan bekerja dibawah tekanan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan persepsi siswa SMK dan industri mengenai tingkat kepentingan indikator employability skills. Kata Kunci: Persepsi siswa, persepsi industri, employability skills Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency ( BPS ) in 2012 the unemployment rate is still higher vocational graduates but ideally a vocational school graduates are job-ready workforce. One possible factor causing the high unemployment rate is still at least a vocational graduates of vocational students who have job readiness and not knowing what is actually needed and wanted by the world of work. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview as well as information regarding perceptions of vocational students who must possess the ability to enter the world of work (employability skills). The method used is descriptive research method with a quantitative approach. Samples were students of class XII SMK Negeri 12 Bandung academic year 2012/2013 and employees of PT. Dirgantara Indonesia Bandung. Data was collected using questionnaires and analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis with the calculation of percentages. The results showed that the perception of vocational students is lower than the criteria of employability skills needed industry, with the highest gap, namely the ability to work under pressure. Thus it can be concluded that there are differences in the perception of vocational students and industry regarding the importance indicator employability skills.
