Abstract

Abstrak : Skripsi ini berjudul “Kiprah R.Saleh Sastranegara dalam Kepolisian Republik Indonesia 1946-1960”, masalah utama yang diangkat dalam skripsi ini adalah “Bagaimana perjalanan karir R.Saleh Sastranegara selama berada di Kepolisian?”. Dari masalah tersebut dibagi menjadi tiga pertanyaan penelitian: 1) Bagaimana Latar Belakang kehidupan R.Saleh Sastranegara. 2) Bagaimana peran R.Saleh Sastranegara dalam Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia dari tahun 1946-1953. 3) Bagaimana peran R.Saleh Sastranegara di Sekolah Polisi Negara Sukabumi 1953-1960. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengkaji permasalahan tersebut menggunakan metode historis yaitu pengumpulan sumber, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi, dengan studi literratur dan wawancara sebagai teknik penelitiannya. Untuk mempermudah analisis, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan interdisipliner melalui kajian di bidang ilmu pendidikan dan sosiologi. Hasil temuan dan pembahasan dalam penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa R.Saleh Sastranegara dilahirkan di Sukanagara 28 Febuari 1915 merupakan orang yang sangat loyal dan disiplin serta memiliki karir yang baik dalam Kepolisian. Sebelumnya di tahun 1935 R.Saleh Sastranegara mengawali karir nya sebagai pamong praja. Di tahun 1937 merupakan awal karir R.Saleh Sastranegara sebagai polisi lapangan, tetapi setelah 3 tahun R.Saleh Sastranegara kembali menjadi seorang pamong praja. Masuk ke zaman Jepang R.Saleh Sastranegara diangkat menjadi guru polisi karena pada saat itu Kepolisian sedang kekurangan personil, sehingga dilakukan penarikan kepada anggota pamong pradja. Masa revolusi R.Saleh Sastranegara juga ikut berjuang dalam gerilya melawan Belanda di daerah Surakarta sewaktu menjabat sebagai Kapolres Surakarta. Pada tahun 1954 secara resmi diangkat menjadi Direktur Sekolah Polisi Negara (SPN) Sukabumi sampai pada 1960. R.Saleh Sastranegara memutuskan untuk pensiun dari dunia Kepolisian. Atas jasanya sebagai Direktur SPN Sukabumi maka namanya sekarang diabadikan sebagai nama salah satu gedung di STUKPA Sukabumi. Kata kunci: R.Saleh Sastranegara, Polisi, Direktur Sekolah Polisi Abstract : The thesis was entitled “Kiprah R.Saleh Sastranegara dalam Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia 1946-1960”. The main issue raised in this thesis is “How is the career journey of R.Saleh Sastranegara while in the police force?”. Of this matter is devided into three reaserch questions. 1) how is the life backround of R.Saleh Sastranegara. 2) how is the role of R.Saleh Sastranegara while in the police force from 1946- 1953. 3) What is the role of R.Saleh Sastranegara at the Sukabumi state police school. The methods used to review the issue was using the historical methods of source collection, source criticism, interpretation and historiography, with literacy studies and interviews as research techniques. To facilitate analysis, researchers use interdisciplinary approaches through studies in education and sociology. . The findings and discussion in this study conluded that R.Saleh Sastranegara who’s born in Sukanagara, 28 Febuary--1915 became loyal and diciplined person with a good career journey in the police force. Earlier In 1935 R.Saleh Sastranegara start his career as a civil service after two years. In 1937 was the beginning of R.Saleh Sastranegara new career as field police, but after 3 years R.Saleh Sastranegara back civil service. Came into the Japanese era R.Saleh Sastranegara became a police teacher because at the time the police was short on personnel, so a movement was made from civil service members. In the era of revolution R.Saleh Sastranegara also fought in the guerilla war againts the Dutch in the Surakarta area when he served as the Surakarta police chief. In 1954 R.Saleh Sastranegara officialy appointed as Director of the Sukabumi state police school until 1960. He has decided to retire from the world of police force. For his services as Director of the Sukabumi state police school, his name is now enumerated as the name of one of the buildings currently in STUKPA Sukabumi.
