Abstract
Abstract Wrestling is a sport that requires constant dynamic performance during combat, wrestling is a sport that is quite challenging because in competition athletes are required in the shortest time to recover their bodies after competing, proper recovery is an important aspect in the preparation stage for elite athletes. Several attempts were made to restore the athlete's condition to recovery, namely sports massage and active recovery. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of using sports massage and active recovery on reducing blood lactate levels. This research method uses a quasi experiment, Cross Over design. The samples in this study were all West Java PON wrestling athletes. Measurement of lactate levels was carried out before heating, before and after intervention. The study was conducted in 2 periods, in the first period the male athlete group was given sports massage treatments and the girls were given active recovery while in the second period the treatments were crossed or exchanged for male athletes given active recovery and girls were given sports massage. The results showed that the blood lactate value after giving the two treatments based on gender experienced significant changes, but the active recovery method was superior to sports massage in both sexes. Further research is needed to provide different techniques in the use of sports massage and the duration of recovery treatment time. Key word: Sport Massage,Active Recovery, lactate, Wrestling.
