Abstract

Setiap guru harus memiliki kompetensi profesional, kompetensi ini juga akan menentukan kinerja guru dan memberikan dampak pada peningkatan kualitas belajar mengajar. Oleh karena itu pemetaan kompetensi profesional guru melakukan penelitian tentang kondisi profesionalisme guru geografi di Kota Cimahi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) Untuk mengetahui penguasaan materi guru geografi SMA di Kota Cimahi. (2) Untuk mengetahui penguasaan standar kompetensi dan kompetensi dasar guru geografi SMA di Kota Cimahi. (3) Untuk mengetahui upaya guru geografi SMA di Kota Cimahi dalam mengembangkan materi pembelajaran secara kreatif. (4) Untuk mengetahui upaya guru Geografi SMA di Kota Cimahi dalam meningkatkan keprofesionalan secara berkelanjutan dan tindak reflektif. (5) Untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan tekhnologi informasi dan komunikasi yang dilaksanakan oleh guru geografi SMA di Kota Cimahi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan sampel total. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa 1) penguasaan materi dalam kategori sangat menguasai, 2) penguasaan Standar Kompetensi dan Kompetensi dasar termasuk dalam kategori sangat menguasai, 3) upaya pengembangan materi secara kreatif masuk dalam kategori sangat mengembangkan, 4) pengembangan keprofesionalan termasuk dalam kategori sangat mengembangkan, dan 5) pemanfaatan TIK masuk dalam kategori cukup memanfaatkan. Penelitian ini bermanfaat sebagai informasi untuk sekolah dalam memberikan peningkatan level profesional guru, sehingga kualitas pembelajaran lebih baik dan mendukung kinerja pendidikan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini memiliki batasan, dimana tidak mengkaji dampak dari kompetensi profesional guru pada kinerja guru. Sehingga hal tersebut menjadi saran penelitian lanjutan. Every teacher must have professional competence, this competency will also assess teacher performance and have an impact on improving the quality of teaching. Therefore, the professional competence of teachers in conducting research on the professional conditions of geography teachers in Cimahi City. The objectives of this study were (1) To determine the mastery of material for high school geography teachers in Cimahi City. (2) To see the mastery of competency standards and basic competences for high school geography teachers in Cimahi City. (3) To measure the wisdom of SMA in Cimahi City in developing learning materials creatively. (4) To measure the efforts of high school Geography teachers in Cimahi City in improving professionalism in a sustainable and reflective manner. (5) To take advantage of information and communication technology implemented by high school geography teachers in Cimahi City. This study used a descriptive method with a total sample. Based on the results of the research, it is known that 1) mastery of material in the very master category, 2) mastery of Competency Standards and basic competencies are included in the very master category, 3) creative material development is in the highly developed category, 4) professional development is included in the very developing category, and 5) the use of ICT is categorized as sufficiently utilizing. This research is useful as information for schools in providing an increase in the professional level of teachers, so that the quality of learning is better and supports education performance in Indonesia. This study has limitations, where it does not examine the impact of teacher professional competence on teacher performance. So that it becomes a suggestion for further research.
