Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh sikap dan perilaku intoleransi yang masih muncul di kalangan siswa. Siswa masih belum memunculkan sikap menghormati dan menghargai adanya perbedaan antara dirinya dengan orang lain. Proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar dituntut untuk menggunakan acuan buku teks yang memuat materi pembelajaran sebagai salah satu sumber belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kesesuaian nilai-nilai toleransi pada uraian materi yang terdapat pada buku teks siswa dengan pembelajaran IPS serta pengintegrasiannya dengan mata pelajaran lain. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis konten dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian yaitu buku teks tema 7 Indahnya Keragaman di Negeriku Kelas IV SD/MI terbitan Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Edisi Revisi 2017 yang berfokus pada uraian materi teks bacaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa muatan materi dalam buku teks tema 7 belum memuat nilai-nilai toleransi secara keseluruhan dan mendalam berdasarkan indikator yang ada, maka implikasinya agar muatan nilai-nilai toleransi dapat lebih banyak termuat pada buku teks siswa dan perlu dikembangkan oleh guru selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung, sehingga siswa dapat memiliki nilai-nilai toleransi yang kemudian diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan sosialnya di rumah, sekolah, maupun masyarakat. ----- This research is motivated by attitudes and behavior of intolerance that still appear among students. Students still do not show respect and respect for differences between themselves and others. The learning process in elementary schools is required to use a textbook reference that contains learning material as a learning resource. This study aims to analyze and describe the suitability of tolerance values in the material description contained in student textbooks with social studies learning and its integration with other subjects. The method used in this research is content analysis method with qualitative approach. The author retrived data from a textbook content specifically theme 7 “Indahnya Keragaman di Negeriku” (red: The Beauty of Diversity in My Country) for 4th grader in Elementary School (SD/MI) published by Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan 2017 Revised Edition that focuses on reading material on the subject of tolerance. Based on the research results, author concluded that the materials contained by Theme 7 in the textbook is not containing adequate values of tolerance based on the existing indicator. Therefore, the implication is there is a need to futher teaching method development performed by teachers so the values could be delivered more effectively. Therefore, with better explanation and delivery methods by teacher, the student can apply those values in their every day life, wheter its in school environment, at home, or in society.
