Abstract

Penelitian mengkaji kecenderungan ketangguhan akademik berdasarkan prestasi akademik peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian adalah memperoleh gambaran tentang kecenderungan ketangguhan akademik berdasarkan tiga kategori prestasi akademik yaitu unggul, papak, dan asor. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Sampel yang digunakan terdiri dari 185 orang peserta didik kelas IX SMP Negeri 26 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel disproportionate stratified random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data ketangguhan akademik menggunakan instrumen yang dikembangkan berdasarkan Revised Academic Hardiness Scale (RAHS), sedangkan data prestasi akademik diperoleh dari hasil studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara umum ketangguhan akademik peserta didik kelas IX SMP Negeri 26 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 berada pada kategori rendah. Hasil analisis perbandingan menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan skor ketangguhan akademik berdasarkan prestasi akademik. Penelitian merekomendasikan layanan bimbingan belajar yang mampu mengembangkan ketangguhan akademik peserta didik. This study analyzed of academic hardiness based on students’ academic achievement. The purpose of this study is to describe the tendency of academic hardiness based on three category academic achievement: higher-group, middle-group, lower group. This study is used quantitative research with descriptive method. The samples of this study was 185 students of 9th grade of SMP Negeri 26 Bandung in 2020/2021 academic year used disproportionate stratified random sampling technique. To collect the data researcher used an academic hardiness instrument that was developed from the Revised Academic Hardiness Scale (RAHS), while academic achievement data collected from documentation studies. The results showed that in general, the students’ academic hardiness of 9th grade of SMP Negeri 26 Bandung in 2020/2021 academic year were in the low category and there was differences academic hardiness score based on academic achievement. This research recommends an academic guidance service for developing students’ academic hardiness.
