Abstract

ABSTRAK Skripsi ini berjudul “Arab Spring: Gejolak Revolusi di Libya (2011-2014)”. Secara umum penelitian ini membahas mengenai persitiwa Arab Spring yang terjadi di Libya pada tahun 2011-2014. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian diuraikan kedalam beberapa pertanyaan, yaitu (1) Bagaimana kondisi kehidupan sosial dan politik sebelum terjadinya revolusi?; (2) Bagaimana peranan pemuda dan media sosial dalam gerakan revolusi di Libya tahun 2011?; (3) Bagaimana proses terjadinya revolusi di Libya tahun 2011?; (4) Bagaimana dampak revolusi terhadap kehidupan sosial dan politik di Libya?. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode historis dengan melakukan empat langkah penelitian, yaitu heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kondisi kehidupan sosial dan politik di Libya menjadi faktor pendorong revolusi seperti diskriminasi etnis, kesenjangan sosial, korupsi, nepotisme, pembatasan ruang publik bagi rakyat, tindakan represif dan otoriter yang ditampilkan pemerintan rezim Muammar Khadafi. Upaya-upaya yang dilakukan rakyat Libya dalam memerjuangkan revolusi yakni melakukan gerakan protes dan penggunan media sosial, strategi gerakan tersebut terinspirasi dari Arab Spring yang terjadi di Tunisia dan Mesir. Gerakan rakyat mendapat tindakan represif dari pemerintah, sehingga rakyat melakukan perlawanan dengan tindakan kekerasan dan memunculkan konflik bersenjata antara pasukan Khadafi dengan pasukan oposisi yakni rakyat Libya yang dibantu NATO. Revolusi Libya tahun 2011 berhasil menjatuhkan kekuasaan Muammar Khadafi, sehingga memberikan dampak yang besar terhadap perubahan-perubahan dalam kehidupan sosial dan politik menuju kearah demokratis. Kata Kunci: Arab Spring, Demokrasi, Revolusi Libya ABSTRACT This thesis is titled "Arab Spring: Revolutionary Fluctuation in Libya (2011-2014)". In general, this study discusses the events of the Arab Spring that occurred in Libya in 2011-2014. The objectives to be achieved in the research are outlined in several questions, namely (1) What was the social and political situation before starting the revolution ?; (2) How the role of youth and social media in revolutionary movement in Libya in 2011?; (3) What is the process of moving the revolution in Libya in 2011 ?; (4) What is the impact of the revolution on social and political life in Libya? The method used in this study is the historical method by conducting research steps, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Based on the results of the study, the social and political life situation in Libya became the main factors driving the revolution such as social protection, corruption, nepotism, public space reforms for the people, repressive and authoritarian actions that shown by Muammar Gaddafi government. The efforts made by the Libyans in fighting for the revolution are conducting protest movements and the use of social media, this movement's strategy is inspired by the Arab Spring that took place in Tunisia and Egypt. The people's movement got a representative from the government, so the people put up a fight by creating a conflict between Gaddafi's forces and the Libyan people's control forces carrying NATO. The Libyan Revolution of 2011 succeeded in overthrowing Muammar Gaddafi's power, thus providing a profound change to the changes in social and political life towards democracy.
