Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a complex problem through the ages, and the tendencies toward delinquency basically appears, to a great extent, to be influenced by and learned simultaneously from the environment. The primary environment is the family. Within the family the adolescent ie interacting mainly with his parents, but in many cases also with other family members. obtains the material of values from his environment, moving from heteronomous to autonomous morality. When the socialization process of the Ego strength and the Superego does not develop adequately, it tends to create more opportunities for the adolescent to act delinquency. The tendencies toward delinquency and the actual delinquent behavior are partly related to the psycho sexual aspects of personality development at various phases during childhood, and also to the choice of libidinal object. The environment may facilitate or hamper the a-chievement of excellence, which in turn may influence the formation of morality. To be sure if the moral norms are inconsistently experienced they may induce the development of tendencies toward delinquency. In a complex pattern of social interactions the adolescent may not be able to acquire his self identity. In the process of social inter -action various physical conditions may contribute to the tendency toward delinquency
