Abstract

Dalam proses memaknai suatu konsep perlu adanya proses pemaknaan yang dalam hal ini berkaitan dengan pengalaman belajar masing-masing siswa. Tetapi nyatanya pengalaman yang dilalui siswa tidak sepenuhnya dapat menjamin pemahaman konsep yang benar kepada siswa. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelusuri kemungkinan adanya learning obstacles atau hambatan belajar pada konsep bangun ruang balok berdasarkan makna volume balok yang dimiliki siswa dan dikaitkan dengan pengalaman siswa dalam memperoleh makna volume balok. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode fenomenology hermeneutic yang melibatkan siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar, dan guru kelas. Pengumpulan data ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes tertulis yang diberikan kepada siswa, wawancara pendalaman yang dilakukan kepada siswa dan guru dan studi dokumetasi pada buku paket matematika kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan persiapan data, explanation, Naïve Understanding, In-depth Understanding, dan Appropriation. Berdasarkan hasil temuan dan pembahasan dalam penelitian ini, ditemukan makna menurut siswa mengenai materi volume balok yang memiliki unit makna yang berbeda-beda, dan makna yang disampaikan tidak konsisten dari waktu ke waktu. Pengalaman yang siswa alami diperoleh dari guru dan buku, pembelajaran yang diajarkan tidak seutuhnya sempurna, pada awal pembelajaran ada tahapan yang dilewati oleh guru. Berdasarkan makna dan pengalaman siswa mengenai konsep volume balok yang sudah diperoleh, ditemukan learning obstacle atau hambatan belajar pada konsep volume balok yang bersifat ontogenic, epistemology, dan didactic. Learning obstacle ini dapat dijadikan pembelajaran di kemudian hari sehingga dapat meminimalisir hambatan-hambatan pada pembelajaran konsep volume balok dan untuk kemudian dapat mengembangkan sebuah desain pembelajaran terkait konsep volume balok yang tepat. Kata Kunci: Learning Obstacles, Fenomenology Hermeneutik, Konsep Volume Balok ABSTRACT In the process of interpreting a concept, it is necessary to have a meaning process which in this case is related to the learning experience of each student. But in fact the experiences that the students go through do not fully guarantee the correct understanding of the concept to students. So this research aims to explore the possibility of learning obstacles or learning obstacles in the concept of building block space based on the meaning of the volume of blocks owned by students and associated with students' experiences in obtaining the meaning of block volume. This study used a hermeneutic phenomenology method involving fifth grade elementary school students and class teachers. This data collection was carried out using written tests given to students, in-depth interviews conducted to students and teachers and documentary studies in the mathematics textbook for grade V Elementary School. Data analysis was carried out with the stages of data preparation, explanation, Naïve Understanding, In-depth Understanding, and Appropriation. Based on the findings and discussion in this study, it was found that the meaning according to the students regarding the volume of blocks material had different units of meaning, and the meanings conveyed were inconsistent from time to time. The experiences that students experience are obtained from the teacher and books, the learning being taught is not completely perfect, at the beginning of the lesson there are stages that the teacher passes. Based on the meaning and experience of students regarding the concept of block volume that has been obtained, learning obstacles were found in the concepts of block volume which are ontogenic, epistemological, and didactic in nature. This learning obstacle can be used as learning at a later date so that it can minimize obstacles to learning the concept of block volume and to develop a learning design related to the correct block volume concept.
