Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang Hubungan antara Penggunaan Media Sosial dengan Prestasi Belajar Siswa Kelas V Sekolah dasar. Media sosial yang diteliti diantaranya yaitu facebook, whatsapp, youtube, instagram, line dan twiiter. Media sosial ini digunakan oleh seluruh kalangan masyarakat baik anak-anak maupun orang dewasa, sehingga tidak dapat dipungkiri untuk anak-anak menggunakannya terutama Siswa Sekolah Dasar. Penggunaan Media sosial juga dapat berpengaruh kepada prestasi belajar siswa, prestasi belajar akan memiliki hubungan dengan media sosial ketika siswa menggunakannya secara positif atau negatif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan penggunaan media sosial dengan prestasi belajar siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Korelasional Product Moment yang dilaksanakan di dua kelas dengan sampel penelitian 51 siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pengguna Whatsapp sebanyak 84%, Youtube 80%, Instagram 72%, Facebook 54%, Line 16%, Twitter 10% dan person correlation 0,333. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara penggunaan media sosial dengan prestasi belajar. This reseach examines the correlation between use of social media with student learning achievement of fifth grade students in elementary school. The social media studied included facebook, whatsapp, youtube, instagram, line and twitter. Social media is used by the whole community, both children and adults, so it cannot be denied for children to use it, especially elementary school student. The use of social media can also affect children's learning achievement. Learning achievement will have a relationship with social media when students use it positively or negatively. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the use of social media with the learning achievement of fifth grade elementary school students. This study uses the Product Moment Correlation method which was conducted in two classes with a sample of 51 students. The results of this study show that the Whatsapp users is 84%, Youtube 80%, Instagram 72%, Facebook 54%, Line 16%, Twitter 10% and person correlation 0.333. Based on these results it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between the use of social media with learning achievement.
