Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match terhadap peningkatan kemampuan kognitif materi klasifikasi makhluk hidup pada siswa SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasy-experiment dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian ialah siswa kelas VII, terdiri dari 29 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 29 siswa kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari tes kemampuan kognitif dalam bentuk pilihan ganda, serta non tes berupa lembar keterlaksanaan sintaks model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match dan angket respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match. Pretest diberikan baik kepada kelas eksperimen maupun kelas kontrol sebelum pembelajaran dimulai, sementara posttest diberikan pada saat pertemuan terakhir. Hipotesis diuji menggunakan uji non parametrik dan parametrik yaitu Mann Whitney dan Independent Samples t-test. Berdasarkan temuan yang didapat semua kegiatan pembelajaran terlaksana dengan sangat baik, peningkatan kemampuan kognitif setelah pembelajaran pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol, respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match tidak meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif materi klasifikasi makhluk hidup pada siswa SMP karena ada beberapa faktor penyebabnya. This aims of this study is to analyze the implementation of make a match cooperative learning model to improve the cognitive abilityof the classification of living things in junior high school students. This study used a Quasy-experiment method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample were students in VII grade, there were 29 students in experimental class and 29 students in control class. The instruments used consisted of a cognitive ability test in the form of multiple choices, and non-tests in the form of a make a match syntax implementation sheet for the cooperative learning model and a questionnaire on students' responses to the make a match type of cooperative learning model. Pretest was given to both experimental class and control class before the lesson began, while posttest was given at the last meeting of the lesson. The hypothesis was tested using non-parametric and parametric tests, namely Mann Whitney and Independent Samples t-test. Based on the findings that all learning activities were carried out very well, the increase in cognitive ability after learning in the experimental class was higher than in the control class, the response of students to the cooperative learning model make a match type was very good. Based on the results obtained, it can not be concluded that the make a match cooperative learning model can improve the cognitive ability of living things classification in junior high school students.
