Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the easy distribution of health information that can be accessed through various sources. The problem that becomes the study in this study is focused on the contribution of student health literacy to self-diagnosis behavior and how student self-diagnosis behavior. This study aims to determine the description of self-diagnosis behavior and the contribution of health literacy skills to self-diagnosis behavior. The research method used is quantitative methods. The study population was students of the Library and Information Science study program consisting of 3 classes with a sample of 56 people who were calculated based on the Slovin formula with the Proportionate stratified random sampling method. The data collection technique used a closed questionnaire with a Likert scale. To determine the contribution of health literacy to self-diagnosis behavior using the Pearson product moment formula. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be seen that: 1) student health literacy has a correlation with self-diagnosis which is included in the "moderate" category; 2) student self-diagnosis behavior is in the "strong" category. It can be concluded that health literacy contributes to self-diagnosis. This means that by having health literacy students have the potential to show self-diagnosis behavior.
