Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang ditemukan di kelas XI IPS 2 SMAN 7 Bandung yaitu rendahnya kemampuan historical imagination siswa dalam merekonstruksi dan menceritakan kembali peristiwa sejarah. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan historical imagination siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Indikator yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini merupakan hasil sintesis peneliti dengan merujuk kepada pendapat para ahli yaitu ide penyusunan naskah cerita berantai, produk naskah cerita berantai, pengemasan naskah cerita berantai, dan penampilan storytelling. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus dimana satu siklus berisi tiga tindakan dengan menggunakan model Ebbut yang terdiri dari penentuan fokus permasalahan dan pembuatan rancana awal (plan), pelaksanaan tindakan (action), observasi (observe), pengawasan proses penelitian (reconnaissance), dan refleksi (reflection). Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya peningkatan kemampuan historical imagination di setiap siklusnya setelah diterapkannya metode storytelling dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Hal ini dilihat dari peningkatan pencapaian nilai pada sebagian besar indikator disetiap tahapan pembelajaran. Pada tahap merekonstruksi/ membangun cerita berantai, indikator yang mengalami peningkatan cukup besar dan dialami seluruh kelompok adalah berimajinasi terkait hal-hal yang akan dituangkan dalam cerita, pendeskripsian secara tertulis mengenai situasi dan kondisi dalam cerita, penggambaran tokoh dalam cerita berdasarkan imajinasi siswa, dan menarik keterhubungan antar cerita berantai. Kemudian pada tahap storytelling, peningkatan yang signifikan terjadi pada indikator penggambaran secara lisan jalan cerita dengan jelas dan kronologis dan berimajinasi terhadap cerita yang dibawakannya. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode storytelling dapat menjadi alternatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan historical imagination siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah di SMAN 7 Bandung. Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran sejarah, storytelling, historical imagination Abstract This research is motivated by problems found by researchers in class XI IPS 2 of SMAN 7 Bandung, namely the low ability of students' historical imagination in learning history. Even though this ability is important to help students imagine in reconstructing and retelling historical events. The main objective of this study is to improve students' historical imagination abilities in learning history. The indicators developed in this study are the results of the synthesis of researchers by referring to the opinions of experts, namely the discussion of ideas on the preparation of chain story scripts, chain product story scripts, discussion on the packaging of chain story scripts, and the appearance of storytelling. This class action research was carried out in two cycles where one cycle contained three actions using the Ebbut model consisting of determining the focus of the problem and making the initial plan, implementing the action , observing , monitoring the research process, and reflection. The results showed an increase in the ability of historical imagination in each cycle after the implementation of the storytelling method in learning history. This is seen from the increase in the achievement of scores on most indicators at each stage of learning. At the stage of reconstructing / constructing a chain story, indicators that experience a significant increase and experienced by the whole group are imagining the things that will be outlined in the story, written descriptions of the situations and conditions in the story, portraying the characters in the story based on students' imaginations, and interesting connectedness between chain stories. Then in the storytelling stage, a significant increase occurred in the verbal indicators of the storyline clearly and chronologically and imagined the stories they were told. Based on these data it can be concluded that the application of the method of storytelling can be an alternative to improve the ability of students' historical imagination in learning history at SMAN 7 Bandung.
