Abstract

ABSTRAK Upaya Pengurangan Risiko Bencana (PRB) terus dibangun dan dibenahi melalui berbagai kegiatan mengingat Indonesia termasuk negara yang rawan akan bencana. Di era Revolusi Industri 4.0, peningkatan literasi informasi diharapkan dapat meminimalisir kerugian materil dan bertambahnya korban jiwa serta mampu melahirkan generasi yang melek bencana (disaster-literate generation). Namun pada tingkat komunitas pendidikan, mahasiswa belum menunjukkan sikap mandiri terhadap keberlimpahan informasi yang tersedia. Oleh karena itu penulisan tesis ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis literasi informasi bencana serta kontribusinya terhadap kesiapsiagaan bencana khususnya bencana banjir pada mahasiswa pendidikan geografi Universitas Samudera Langsa. Metode penelitian yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuantitatif survei dengan alat pengumpul data berupa kuesioner. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa pendidikan geografi Universitas Samudera Langsa yang berjumlah 226. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 122 mahasiswa dengan pertimbangan sampel dapat mewakili kriteria populasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat literasi informasi bencana dan kesiapsiagaan bencana mahasiswa masuk dalam kategori sedang. Artinya sebagian mahasiswa sudah memahami mengenai praktik literasi informasi dan kesiapsiagaan bencana. Kemudian hasil kontribusi literasi informasi terhadap kesiapsiagaan bencana mahasiswa menunjukan hasil determinasi R square (R2) Sebesar 50,6% dan sisanya 49,4% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Artinya literasi informasi sangat berkontribusi dalam kesiapsiagaan bencana mahasiswa. Mempertimbangkan hasil tersebut sudah saatnya literasi informasi menjadi fokus dalam salah satu upaya kegiatan peningkatan kesiapsiagaan bencana di Kota Langsa. Kata Kunci : bencana, literasi informasi, kesiapsiagaan ABSTRACT Disaster Risk Reduction (PRB) efforts continue to be developed and addressed through various activities considering that Indonesia is a disaster-prone country. In the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, increasing information literacy is expected to minimize material losses and increase in casualties and be able to produce a disaster-literate generation. However, at the educational community level, students have not shown an independent attitude towards the abundance of available information. Therefore this thesis aims to measure the level of disaster information literacy and its contribution to disaster preparedness, especially flood disasters in geography education students of Samudera Langsa University. The research method chosen in this study is a quantitative survey method with a data collection tool in the form of a questionnaire. The population in this study were all students of geography education at Samudera Langsa University, totaling 226. The sample taken was 122 students with the consideration that the sample could represent the population criteria. The results showed that the level of disaster information literacy and disaster preparedness among students was in the medium category. This means that some students already understand information literacy and disaster preparedness. Then the contribution of information literacy to student disaster preparedness shows the result of determination of R square (R2) of 50.6% and the remaining 49.4% is influenced by other factors. This means that information literacy greatly contributes to student disaster preparedness. Considering these results, it is time for information literacy to become a focus in one of the efforts for disaster preparedness activities in Langsa City.
