Abstract

UPAYA GURU DALAM MENUMBUHKAN MINAT MEMBACA PERMULAAN ANAK USIA DINI DI TK AL-FATAH RINA DESPITASARI Novi Sofia Fitriasari ¹ Rr. Deni Widjayatri ² ABSTRAK Pendidikan anak usia dini merupakan pendidikan awal sebelum anak memasuki jalur pendidikan formal. Selain dipersiapkan untuk memasuki jenjang pendidikan Sekolah Dasar, rangsangan terhadap enam aspek pekembangan juga penting bagi anak. Tetapi pada kenyataan yang terjadi di masyarakat pendidikan anak usia dini sering kali di tuntut orang tua untuk mengajarkan membaca. Hal ini mendorong lembaga pendidikan penyelenggara PAUD secara aktif mengajarkan membaca yang tidak sesuai dengan tingkat perkembangan anak. Kenyataan tersebut menimbulkan kekeliruan dalam menafsirkan membaca anak usia dini. Pada dasarnya membaca anak usia dini dinamakan membaca permulaan. Seringkali lembaga penyelenggara PAUD mengajarkan membaca kepada anak tidak sesuai dengan karakteristik pembelajarannya, yaitu bermain sambil belajar sehingga pada saat pengembangan membaca permulaan masih terdapat anak yang kurang berminat dalam membaca permulaan. Namun hal ini tidak terlihat ketika peneliti melakukan pengamatan di TK Al-Fatah, sebagian besar anak terlihat bersemangat mengikuti kegiatan membaca permulaan. Bahkan dari pengamatan singkat yang dilakukan, beberapa anak bahkan sudah mampu membaca dengan lancar. Melalui pengamatan awal tersebut, peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti lebih dalam tentang upaya guru dalam menumbuhkan minat membaca permulaan yang dilakukan di TK tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis upaya dan penerapan metode yang dilakukan guru dalam menumbuhkan minat membaca permulaan anak usia dini di TK Al-Fatah. Metode yang digunakan yaitu studi kasus yang bertujuan untuk memahami fenomena membaca permulaan yang diterapkan oleh guru di TK Al-Fatah Kota Cilegon. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan di TK Al-Fatah upaya guru dan metode yang dilakukan adalah bermain sambil belajar, diantaranya bermain outdoor mencari dan menemukan, balok huruf, kartu huruf, papan huruf, puzzle huruf, mind mapping, membaca buku gambar berseri, bermain menghubungkan kata dengan gambar, memilih buku pojok bacaan dan sebagainya. Deni Widjayatri ² ABSTRACT Early childhood education is early education before children enter the formal education pathway. Besides being prepared to enter the elementary school level, stimulation of six aspects of development is also important for children. But in reality what happens in early childhood education communities are often demanded by parents to teach reading. This encourages PAUD organizing educational institutions to actively teach reading that is not appropriate to the level of child development. This fact creates a mistake in interpreting early childhood reading. Basically, reading early childhood is called beginning reading. Often PAUD organizers teach reading to children not in accordance with the characteristics of learning, which is to play while learning so that at the time of early reading development there were still children who were less interested in reading the beginning. But this was not seen when the researchers conducted observations at Al-Fatah Kindergarten, most children seemed eager to follow the initial reading activities. Even from brief observations made, some children have even been able to read fluently. Through these preliminary observations, researchers were interested in researching more about the efforts of teachers in fostering an interest in reading the beginnings made in the kindergarten. This study aims to manalyzing the efforts and application of methods by teachers in fostering an interest in reading the beginning of early childhood in Al-Fatah Kindergarten. The method used that is, a case study that aims to understand the phenomenon of beginning reading which is applied by teachers in Al-Fatah Kindergarten in Cilegon City. This study uses data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on research that has been doneat TK Al-Fatah the teacher's effort and the method used is play while learning, including outdoor play searching and finding, block letters, letter cards, letter boards, letter puzzles, mind mapping, reading serial picture books, playing connecting words with pictures, selecting corner reading books and so on.
