Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kemampuan berpikir siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA kelas IV di sekolah dasar. Obyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Bojonggadog Kecamatan Ciwidey Kabupaten Bandung dan mengambil 3 siswa untuk diteliti. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Jenis kesulitan siswa yaitu kurangnya dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir secara kritis, kurang aktif dalam setiap pembelajaran dan kurang memahami materi yamg sudah diberikan oleh guru. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kurangnya siswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran IPA dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kemampuan berpikir. Faktor internal yang memengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kurang kritis yaitu daya ingat rendah serta kurangnya mengembangkan berpikir secara kritis, kurangnya keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran, dan rendahnya minat dan motivasi untuk belajar. Kemudian faktor eskternal yang memengaruhi kemampuan berpikir siswa yaitu lingkungan sosial dan non sosial. The purpose of this study is to determine student’s critical thinking skills and to find out the factors that influenced student’s thinking abilities in the science learning process in grade IV at SDN Bojonggadog elementary school, Ciwidey District, Bandung Regency. This research has evolved three of the students as participants. The type of research applies observation metods and data collection technique including tests and direct interviews with the participants. The student difficulties are lack of active learning, and lack of understanding of material given by the teacher. This research has come to the result indicating that the lack of students in developing critical thinking skills in a science lesson, two factors that influence students thinking abilities there are internal and external factors. Internal factors influence the ability to think less critically such as low memory and lack of developing critical thinking patterns, lack interest and motivation in the study. And then the external factors that affect students thinking ability namely from the social and non social environment. The social environment evolving the role of their families starts from lack of support motivation and attentiveness from parents towards students and then in the non-social environment teachers still required to develop varied methods and interestingly the lack of creative and attractive learning media and the limited infrastructure in schools.
