Abstract

ABSTRAK Sabila Mukhlishonisa (1601384). Analisis Kemampuan Spasial Geometri Siswa Kelas VIII. Kemampuan spasial menjadi salah satu penunjang dalam pembelajaran geometri. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan spasial geometri siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Bandung berdasarkan tingkat berpikir geometri van Hiele. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif studi kasus. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan memberikan tes spasial geometri berdasarkan unsur spasial Maier (1998) dan tes berpikir geometri van Hiele yang diadaptasi dari Usiskin (1982) kepada 23 siswa beserta wawancara kepada guru dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 12 siswa berada pada tingkat pra 0 van Hiele dan 11 siswa dengan tingkat 0 van Hiele. Adapun berdasarkan hasil kemampuan spasial geometri tiap unsurnya, semua siswa memperoleh kemampuan spatial perception yang tinggi, visualization dan spatial relation yang cukup, dan mental rotation yang masih rendah. Sedangkan untuk spatial orientation siswa dengan tingkat 0 mendapat kategori rendah dan siswa dengan tingkat pra 0 mendapat kategori sangat rendah. Kesalahan siswa dalam menjawab soal diklasifikasikan menjadi kesalahan tipe err1, tipe err2, dan tipe err3. Siswa masih kesulitan dalam membayangkan objek-objek geometri pada soal. Ketidaksiapan siswa dalam menjawab soal, kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep geometri, dan kondisi pembelajaran jarak jauh menjadi faktor yang menyebabkan siswa maish salah dalam menjawab soal spasial geometri. Spatial ability is one of the supports in learning geometry. This study aims to analyze VIII grade students’ spatial abilities in one of the state junior high schools in Bandung based on van Hiele's level of geometry thinking. The study was conducted using qualitative case study methods. Data were collected by providing spatial geometry tests based on Maier's (1998) spatial elements and van Hiele's standard geometrical thinking tests adapted from Usiskin (1982) to 23 students along with interviews with teachers and students. The results showed that students were divided into 12 students with a pre-0 van Hiele level and 11 students with a 0 van Hiele level. As for the results of the spatial geometrical abilities of each element, all students obtained high spatial perception skills, sufficient visualization and spatial relations, and low mental rotation. Whereas for spatial orientation students with level 0 get low category and students with pre 0 level get a very low category. Students' errors in answering the questions were classified into error types err1, type err2, and type err3. Students still have difficulty imagining geometric objects in the problem. Students' unpreparedness in answering questions, students' lack of understanding of the concept of geometry, and conditions of distance learning are factors that cause students to incorrectly answer geometric spatial questions.
