Abstract

Penelitian berangkat dari turunnya permasalahan kecerdasan emosi dan karakter pada anak usia dini di TK Kabupaten Purwakarta. Memiliki tujuan sebagai salah satu usaha untuk mengetahui tingkat kecerdasan emosi dan karakter pada anak usia 4-6 tahun di TK Kabupaten Purwakarta, selain itu untuk mencari hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Kuantitatif dengan menggunakan Studi Korelasi, melalui cara pengumpulan data yaitu membagikan link kuesioner secara online. Hal ini disebabkan karena situasi dan kondisi pandemi Covid-19 yang saat ini banyak diperbincangkan di dunia. Lokasi penelitian ini bertempat di kediaman masing-masing orang tua/wali siswa-siswi TK yang berada di Kabupaten Purwakarta, dengan populasi sebanyak 18 sekolah dan subjek (responden) sebanyak 138 anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat persentase sebanyak 82% mengenai kecerdasan emosi dan sebanyak 83% mengenai karakter. Selanjutnya, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan terhadap kecerdasan emosi dan karakter pada anak dengan hasil koefisien korelasi harga r sebesar 0,41 berkategori korelasi sedang. Maka koefisien determinasi yang diperoleh 17%, dengan demikian dapat dikatakan 17% kecerdasan emosi dapat dijelaskan oleh karakter yang dimiliki dan sebesar 83% sisanya dijelaskan oleh variabel di luar kecerdasan emosi. The research departs from the decline in emotional intelligence and character problems in early childhood in kindergarten in Purwakarta Regency. It has a goal as an effort to determine the level of emotional intelligence and character in children aged 4-6 years in Purwakarta Regency Kindergarten, in addition to finding the relationship between the two variables. The research design used is quantitative research using correlation studies, through data collection by distributing the questionnaire link online. This is due to the situation and conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic which are currently being discussed in the world. The location of this research is located in the residence of each of the parents / guardians of kindergarten students in Purwakarta Regency, with a population of 18 schools and 138 children as subjects (respondents). The results showed that the percentage rate was as much as 82% regarding emotional intelligence and as much as 83% regarding character. Furthermore, there is a significant relationship to emotional intelligence and character in children with the result of the correlation coefficient r value of 0.41 in the medium correlation category. Then the coefficient of determination obtained is 17%, thus it can be said that 17% of emotional intelligence can be explained by the characters possessed and the remaining 83% is explained by variables outside of emotional intelligence.
