Abstract

Diabetes mellitus causes various complications, one of which is diabetic ulcer. Patients with DM wounds in Indonesia are as much as 60% and 15% of ulcer sufferers experience disabilities to death, thus requiring comprehensive care. The use of modern dressings was allegedly able to accelerate wound healing because it retains moisture. The purpose of this study was to determine wound healing process with hydrocolloid & foam dressing in patients diabetic ulcers. The method used is study of literature. Data collection using PRISMA method. Garuda, Pubmed and DOAJ data base. Literature criteria for 2015-2020, keywords; healing process of ulcers, modern dressings in National base and human filters, full text, 5 years ago, keywords; hydcolloid dressing, foam dressing, ulcer diabetic base International. Found 5 articles that match the criteria. Analyze data by looking for similarities, inequalities, giving views, comparing and summarizing literature. The results of study of 5 literature hydrocolloid and foam dressing provide faster healing because it maintains a moist atmosphere on wound. Hydrocolloid is more moisturizing because it contains more moisture but is easily released when used and foam dressing provides a cushioning effect so it is comfortable to use and is able to absorb many exudates but is not recommended for DM ulcer patients who have dermatitis. Process wound healing in each patient gives rise to different responses so it needs accuracy when choosing the type of modern dressing that suits the patient ulcer wound condition.
